Why am I getting emails from women,that want me to email them back,but @yahoo.com?
Anyone else getting these?

I get lots of these from men...I have found most of them to be spammers...they all claim to be antique or diamond dealers who live in the US but just happen to be on business in Africa...oh yeah and most of them are "god fearing" and widows with one child. Seems this site is full of them.

I get one about every other day.  I wonder why a 23 year old is writing to a 64 year old. I guess I'm just sexy.  I report it as abuse - spam  If I write back I give them my yahoo address eatshit@yahoo.com

i wonder if there is even one person at M D who hasn't gotten such spam. Cowboy, there are several red flags for this type of spam. the "god fearing/loving" line, the easiest one to spot and challange is "native american". oh yeah, doctorate degree! no pics! or a pic of the hottest gal you have ever seen! as another senor citizen mentioned, i usually delete automatically if under the age of 30. I'm not old but half my age is a bit young! we be jammin

I haven't been on this site much in a long time due to the constant influx of those notices myself. Got annoying after awhile. I even had it posted in CAPS that they should just move on but the emails kept coming and it's funny how the names were similar as well as the content of the mail. The moment I log on here I get hit again for please write me I am so desperate@yahoo.com. And as bluirisheyes says...they're usually somewhere in Africa with one kid or overseas with a kid in the hospital. I haven't had one in about 15 minutes and I am feeling unloved...Anyway I am going to remove the CAPS notice in my profile since no one is reading it anyway...and it could be scaring away good souls who feel I am being rude...but geez...why kill the troublemaking ones with kindness when you can use an axe? Sometimes that's all some people understand anyway...a good swift kick. However they aren't even getting that.

The scammers want you to email them at yahoo because they know they will be detected and deleted from here sooner or later but won't be deleted from yahoo.
Once you email them at yahoo, they then have your email address and can start the big scam.

I get tons of them even though my profile strictly says I want to get to know ppl on this site only. It's because they want your email address, you have to be very careful of scammers with people like that. You can't get rid of idiots once they get your email address either. Tells me people don't even read my profile even though I get nice emails saying "I read your profile and found it very nice dadadadada" lol. Gotta watch em. tc Lost

Why do most of these spam letters start off with "well".
"Well, my name is shelly and I'm from Spokane, Washington, USA. I'm a god fearing lady who honest I is."
They have to let you know that they're from the Spokane, Washington that's located in the USA as opposed to Spokane, Washington, Nigeria. No matter how slick they are, they all use a formula that's easily recognizable. There must be a manual called "Scamming US Citizens for Dummies" that tells them what to write.
