There is a blog this morning about Jessie Jackson's "off the air" derogatory comments about Obama. My comment would have been a long one, so you get this instead!!!
For the sake of discussion, let's assume that this whole repub/dem election thing really is a farce...a game...a dance...and it really is all BS & smoke & mirrors...just one big ole dog & pony show.
Think about it....is there anyone who knows better how the media works....and more importantly how to manipulate it...than brother Jesse??? What's Obama's biggest hurdle to overcome if he's to get elected?? The fact that he's a black man, that's what.
Blacks and guilt ridden white liberals alone voting in lockstep won't get Obama elected. He has to pull in a substantial # of votes from folks in the middle...folks who are fed up with Bushie...folks down here on main street who are scared to death. But many of these folks in the middle are sick and tired of hearing Jessie & Al and the crap they spew, and for that reason alone would likely not vote for Obama simply because they fear that a black president would give Jessie & Al and the like an even bigger stage from which to run their racebaiting games.
Think what you will of Jessie, but he aint a stupid man....and as I said, he knows how to play the media game as well as anyone. And you better believe he wants Obama elected in the worst way. I'm sure he's already dreaming of all the attention HE'LL be getting if Obama wins...all the shows he'll be on...and all the $$$ flowing in. Like I said, he ain't stupid.
So what better way to get the "message" out there that Obama isn't all radical & racist like Jessie (wink-wink!) than for Jessie himself to get publicly "busted" badmouthing him for not being "black enough"?? It makes the news, people talk, some of the white folks on the fence start thinking if he's not black enough for Jessie, maybe he's OK after all, and they vote for him. And Obama winning would sure put Jessie back in the game...
Was it a setup?? Have the dems finally gotten it through their heads that if they ever want to win the big one again, they better get sneaky and start playing dirty too?? Given the $20,000,000 lap dance Billary gave Obama a couple of weeks ago, I sure think it's likely.
Just a thought.............

First, let me say that I think Obama is a good man and as much as I dislike his grandstanding so is Jesse Jackson. Your theory was the first thing that occurred to me. I couldn't see how this could possibly hurt Barack Obama. It DOES make Jesse look like a gonad. For this reason, I don't think Jesse would have done it. He's all about himself and self sacrifice isn't his strong suit. I rather doubt it was done to help Obama. I tend to think Jesse just fvcked up again. It's just another in a long string of stupidities. I'm not sure how anyone can be in his position and still get caught with his pants down so often. Sometimes I wonder if he just filled a vacuum in civil rights leadership after the assasination of MLK. He had such a great opportunity to become an admirable leader and now he's made himself a buffoon.

I agree it didn't make a lot of sense, he was suppose to be there to talk in favor of Obama, and now he kinda made fool out of himself. (wow my spell check didn't pick up the work kinda) Looks like I'm smarter than spell check lol. Anyways, by making those comments off mic, it looks like he was speaking out of both sides of his mouth, in other words, a liar, which is unbecoming for a man of his nature and reputation, wouldn't you think? Well, lets say for a man who needs to rebuild his reputation. tc Lost

With an ego like Obama's, do you really think he is going to give Jackson much of a platform to speak? HA!

The Spin never stops. Rev. Jackson said he "wanted to cut his nuts off." Of course he meant Baracks nuts. That is not a calculated pretend screw up, that is coming from someone who is upset. Why do people feel the need to spin for other people? The only pretending going on here is the apology. He said it cause he means it and only now regrets it cause he got caught.

I'm on board with the rest.
Jesse is ALL about Jesse. PERIOD. This was a screw up from an arrogant man. Negative comments from anyone don't turn into positives for the slandered. Just lowers the speaker even more, in my opinion.
As for his apology.......... I'm sure he is VERY sorry....... he got caught.

It seems fairly clear that thus far the best players on we conservatives team are the reverends on the other team. I mean Hillary and Barack were bad enough going after each other and pressing the patient of their parties members. I know this because I listened to friends that are democrats and the level of frustration they felt, knowing that the battle was only hurting the party as a whole. Now, they and we have to listen to Jackson and no doubt Sharpton by the end of the day. Our media's general mentality will be, 'Hey, lets go put a microphone in front of Sharpton's face and ask what he thinks about what Jackson was thinking about what he said about Obama'. This is gonna be an e-ticket ride folks,
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand McCain still isn't spending a dime, in the big picture.

Nice to see you here again Alive!
The Reverend Jesse just made another mistake. It is a fairly consistent thing with him.
Public face.....private face.
It is the nature of politics and religion, with men such as he.
No matter he is supposed to be a Reverend.
He is still just a man.
A pretty weak one, near as I can tell. At least from what information he gives me in order to come to that conclusion.

Really people, he was only saying what other people think. That Barack isn't "black enough"? That's racist, coming from black or white people and I would hope none of you are thinking it. What does it mean to be "black enough" anyway???? Are you not "black" if you are successful, powerful, speak eloquently, and take care of your children and wife??? What kind of message does that send?!
