If a christian walked up to an adult and tried to instill the fear of hell into them, the adult would ask one question, where is the exact location of hell? The christian would stumble over his words a little bit by saying, some say it's below, in the earth's core. And the adult would reply, is hell eternal? And the christian would say ofcourse. Then the adult would say, when the sun burns off all it's fuel and becomes a neutron star after it's stripped of it's electrons, it looses it gravitational field on the planets and the planets separate into dust. So hell therefore will also be separated. And not eternal. Then the christian will start grabbing for straws, saying well then it's the absence of god. That's not an answer to the exact location of hell. Therefore, the christian failed to strike fear into the adult. But the christians have a sick trick up their sleeve, they target children, telling them that they'll burn in hell. And naturally children know nothing about psychology nor physics, so they fall prey to these fear tactics. And the more they can subdue the children and the longer they can indoctrinate them, the more their system perpetuates. Christians are sick people. And you wonder why the youth have troubles.
