A big thank you to all of you who commented or wrote personal email to me concerning my new grandson. Many asked me to keep them posted, so here it is! Baby Christopher is doing just great. He is now one week old and is breathing 100% room air (no supplemental oxygen), is being fed every 4 hours and is digesting well, can suck a pacifier full of sugar water (he has my sweet tooth! lol) and is no longer under the lights for jaundice. He is still very tiny and they haven't weighed him again yet, but all looks great. (His mother and I could both swear his feet have grown if the rest of him hasn't... He was 13.5" long and his feet are 1.5" long!) His brain scan was normal as were all of his other tests. As one of the NICU nurses said, he's doing fabulous, but we're not telling him in case he decides he's not getting enough attention! Mommy and Daddy are coping and his big brother is dealing with the green eyed monster, so I guess all is well. I came home last night and slept in my own bed..I live 60 miles from the hospital and 90 miles from my son and his family, so I can be there in fairly short order. Again, thanks for all of your concerns and especially for your prayers. Please keep him in your prayers...he's got a lot of growing left to do, but his miracle continues.
