I watch people talk about their belief in God sometimes and wonder if it's other people they are trying to convince or their selves. And I'm witness to events everyday on the news and in my personal life that bring forth questions as to whether there are any true believers. If there are true believers than how do they account for war, homelessness, hatred, racism, murder, mayhem, etc, etc, etc ? How can God allow these things to transpire ?
If people truly believe than why do they constantly need to impose themselves on others ? Why does the ruler of the universe rely on the most annoying people in the world to spread his teachings ? That may seem unfair but really. It's annoying to constantly hear the followers of the ruler of the universe whine about things such a not being able to pray in schools, claiming '"religion is under attack", or attempting to re-write history so that it appears the founding fathers were all Christians who intended on America being a Christian nation.
I don't mean to offend or be cruel these are just my thoughts. I'm sincere in my confusion as to why true believers choose the methods they use to spread their faith.

I am going to bite on this one. I enjoy blogs like this for they do expose every day life.
Religion as we the Christians know it today is within our self. For we know there is a bible, a church and there are pretenders. Real christians do not have to prove themself for their deeds do that for them. We do have people that attend church every day and cannot tell what the sermon was about. We have the churches where you are read to and then there are the wild wild west ones. that is where preachers put on a good show to express their message.
So, we do have a varity in the Christian Religion.
A good example of satin at work is Fox News and Reveren Wright--Abama former pastor. He is a typical fire and brim stone preacher--get the congeration worked up.
But The ORilleys can be sen as an anti-christ for they blamed one man for the preaching of a pastor. They failed to know or care to know that churches have a structure. The elders/ decons run and operate the church. It is their job to keep the pastor/ministor under control. although, the members can and do complain.
If I left every organization or quick speaking to people for their words or expression, then My TV and radio would stay off, and I would not be speaking to no one.
So, this is where our religion has gone--people must get back to reading the bible and questioning the things as said to them. Then there are the level and social levels of religion. But, everyone must believe in religion as it fits their deds.
If you read Revelations and read about the Beast---Fox will fit the picture.

Hi There... 
I don't pretend to have answers...I do have opinions ..I have preferences for things...and I have deep love for other things. I am passionate about my Racehorses and I really like Nascar..
My point is..People talk about things they love and sometimes talk too much. If you get me in a conversation about Dale Jr (Nascar) I will yak away. Mention Horse racing and I will not stop blabbbbbing until you leave...(Just kidding) To be sure these subjects would bore some people. Hence, it's no different when people Love the Lord..it is their life and that's what they are passionate about it.
May be if we can try to understand...that perhaps they aren't trying to convert..but rather they are yakking on about something they deeply love. Being from a military background....I am always brought to remembrance that Freedom of Speech is freedom for All Americans. It is A Christian's right to talk..just like it is your right to verbally question their motives.
I Love America...and I Love it's diversification!! ( Now I will step off my soap box and say it's great to be here and nice to meetcha!!)

You can't see air, but you know it's there. I just look around at the marvels and know it's the work of God. I mean only a man of his brilliance could figure out how to put everything on this earth together to work like it does in complete order. I mean how do trees know to grow up instead of sideways? Or the seasons? Or the food chains? Or even the body, how it works, the nervous system and all it's veins and arteries? I mean no human could begin to invent anything like it. Think about millions of people over the years born all with different finger prints? How does this happen? Just per chance? I don't think so. A supreme being for sure, call Him whatever you will, but there is a Mastermind behind it all. tc Lost

As a believer in God, I can only say all the crime and heartache are works of the devil - God doesn't want us to suffer, but we do need to believe in Him to protect us and trust in Him. I agree with Kentuck - we all need to read the Bible to learn more to get answers to our questions and to learn the truth of what lies ahead.

OMG, I did notice that. But then again, doesn't those who debate the religious minded also come off as trying to convince themselves?
But it is fun to watch those who are religious attempt to convince others that there is a god without using any logic. I say let the religious people continue to debate- it amuses me.

Christians will always make up excuses to justify the behavior or lack of behavior for a god they believe exists. They pretend they can pray for safety, healing and peace yet Christians divorce at a higher rate than everyone else. They do the same egregious deeds as everyone else because of the lack of spirituality in their religion. They cheat and lie probably worse than most others. When it comes to religion, its all confabulation.
But lets be fair. The bible is very clear on who should be murdered. Women who are not virgins before marriage should be stoned to death. Deuteronomy 22:20-21. Children who are unruly should be killed. Leviticus 20:9 Homosexual should be killed. Leviticus 20:13 Anyone who worships a different god should be murdered. Exodus 22:19 and there are pages and pages in the bible of who should die. The best one is of Abraham willing to murder his own son as a psychopathic test of faith and Christians love that sort of insanity.

Yes, very annoying. I don't mind people being strong minded with a good causes but they have no logic, rhyme or reasoning in how they go about with their indoctrinations.
