It's a little cooler out today then it has been. Good thing too because I was getting a little concerned about the neighbors dogs. You see, usually when ever they hear me going out to get the mail they starts yelping at me. I use the phrase yelp because these dogs don't quite bark. They kind of yelps as if they're trying to talk. But since it's been so hot the female just lies there in the shade while the male, although he was giving it the good college try, was finding it hard to either bark or yelp. So what he's been doing is just kind of moving his jaws up and down and making a smacking sound. Poor thing....So yesterday and today it's been a bit cooler and he and his companion were both out. Not to be out done she was jumping up on the fence and hanging there doing her own version of the yelp as if to say "yeah" every time her mate made a point....I was glad to see they were feeling better even if they seemed to be cussing me out. And if I didn't know any better I would swear they were both actually happy that all I got today were bills....Oh well, tomorrows suppose to be hot again.

Throw them something that is full of water. Like watermelon. Or grapes. They may quit yelpin at you and wag tails instead.

DO NOT give them grapes....grapes can cause instant kidney failure in dogs.... If they do not have access to fresh water and you can make it available do so. If this continues you might want to consider contacting animal control or whom ever does cruelty investigations in your area. Leaving dogs outside in extreme heat is wrong.....

I am sure that if you thought these dogs were being neglected you would have done something. If the dogs have shade and fresh water and room to roam they are going to be fine, note to some of you commenters out there. They're "dogs" for God's sake. Hopefully they are not tied to a tree so they can move around, get circulation. I'm glad maggie said the grape thing. Shes right. Oh, did I mention, they're "dogs" for God's sake, grapes & watermelon, geeez. I'm sure they are not real comfortable in the heat but I'm going to give you the credit of assuming you understand their discomfort but would know enough to get help if they were truly in trouble. Geeeeeez people, they're "dogs" for God's sake.
