"God is closest to those with broken hearts." - Jewish Saying "Rejection is God's protection" - Anonymous "God brings men into deep waters, not to drown them, but to cleanse them." - John Aughey
I believe I am healing. It has taken some time, but I stopped listening to me the past few days and I am now concentrating on hearing the messages God is bringing to me and I trust that He will be the one, that as the first quote states, will be closest to me and who has brought this heartbreak to me as a protection, a cleansing. Thank you Lord.
I have missed certain people here, especially my heart sis, (and all you other fine BAMFs here), and I have to let you know that I have received some very nice emails from those that were a tad on the worried side about me. I am getting stronger in my resolve not to allow this to happen to me again.
I feel extremely lucky actually, I have found that even after the divorce so many years ago, and a few relationships that were less than pleasant, my heart did not shut down completely and even dared to allow itself the warmth of falling in love again. I know that sounds ludicrous, but it is true. A link to a song that says it all: (sing along in a format you will recognize) True Words
I think I am also learning to heal because of the book I am reading, entitled Chicken Soup for the Soul, Life Lesson for Women, 7 Essential Ingredients for a Balanced Life, but I believe it works for all genders.
I will try to post an excerpt from the book, every so often.. this is my post for today, for my step back to this site only for friendship for now and a long, long while as I believe with my entire being that time must be granted after a love has left your heart smoldering.
This is the excerpt:
“I must undertake to love myself and to respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect.” – June Jordan
In this chapter the author asks you to write a love letter to yourself. “Close your eyes and see yourself as the most glorious person in the world. You are the ultimate beloved. Now open your eyes and write.” Tough assignment, eh? I believe I struggled with that one for at least an hour, and though my love letter to myself was short, it did reconnect me with my self worth. Though there are people in this world, in my every day life, in my personal life, that may not realize my value, it is OK, because I now do.
Now for a short Life Lesson, called: Take stock of your life:
Look back over your life, not with a critical eye, but to discover the connecting thread that give your life rhythm and meaning. To do this you must know who you are and what truly matters. Ask yourself, what do I love? What are my core values and beliefs? What are my own needs and desires? How can I create a life that fits exactly who I am now, not who I’ve been?
Questions worth asking:
§ What are 3 things I’ve accomplished in my life that I’m most proud of?
§ What are 5 of my strengths, talents and positive qualifications?
§ How do I use my gifts and strengths in every day life? Do I use them only to have others recognize them or for my own personal satisfaction? And I have come to realize that everything you’ve done, everyone you’ve loved, every mistake you’ve made, every obstacle you’ve overcome, is part of who you are today. The only way you will create a life you love is with one caring, compassionate act at a time. Acknowledge and accept yourself for who you are, because until you make peace with who you are, you’ll never be content with what you have.
There is such a thing as being too late... Life often leaves us standing bare, naked, and dejected with lost opportunity.... Over the bleached bones of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late." --Martin Luther King Jr. A video that I hope... Touches Your soul:

never lose faith !
in God, yourself, healing, and especially...... when you least expect it........
everything that you have endured, will finally manifest itself and its purpose come to light.......
as a preparation.......
for the "one" that is coming!

I thought I'd share what one of my best friends continually tells me.
You can give 100% of yourself to a relationship everyday... but you will STILL only be 50% of that relationship! Treat yourself softly....there are some things in life that are almost too difficult to comprehend.

As always I agree with Red. It's good to see you and read your thoughts.
My love letter to myself would be very long and most likely xxx rated. Kiss Me Big Time.

Enjoying the day is the key isn't it? Searching for moments or at least being prepared to recognize that beauty that is in and all around each and every one of us.
Yours shines. I hope you see it as bright as those of us that have been touched by you do.
One day at a time...
