Ever since I filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy, there have been several people that have treated me badly. I am not speaking of those I owe money too, but ones that just "learned" of my bankruptcy (I am not sure how) and even my own attorney!!
I don't understand. Are they so unfeeling that they don't even try to consider that if there was any way to avoid it, I would have? In fact, I often prayed that God would provide enough to pay my creditors. I mean it was not THEIR fault that things did not turn out the way they were intended to.
When my husband was alive, both personally and corporately, we were already in big trouble. While its true that not all the choices we made worked to our benefit, the major reasons for the problems were out of our control.
My attorney wont even answer my few critical questions! Oh I am SURE she would if I agreed to make another appointment with her!  The huge amount I am already paying just is not enough I guess.
So I will enter the hearing still feeling that I am not sure of my options 
I guess I just aske too much!!

I don't know, but it sounds to me that someone is betraying your confidence....everyone should not know your personal business...especially your financial business. As for that attorney...something surely does not sound right there...isn't there a way to change attorneys?

A chapter 13 doesn't even mean you aren't paying your bills, you pay them just a less percentage, it's not like you aren't paying them at all. So I don't know why people should treat you different, at least you are trying. There are those like a contractor that ripped me off, he took all my money on a job and left without finishing the job, did it to a few others then filed bankruptcy, he made $198K that year and got away with it. I'm still going to court. Those kinda ppl are the ones that should be looked down upon. tc Lost

Just my personal opinion as a former paralegal, but most bankruptcy attorneys have no personality and could care less, especially the ones who are sole practitioners. I think it comes with the job for some reason. As for people treating you different - those people don't deserve to be your friends anyway if they cannot stand by you in a time of need! Hang in there!
