I am currently reading a book with this theme and while reading the news online this morning came across a couple of items regarding missing children. This prompted me to delve further, via the internet, into sites such as Child Find. My heart broke....so many.
I can't imagine what a parent must go through....day after day....month after month....year after year....wondering....never losing hope....and not knowing. The tragedy of losing a child to death at a young age, be it from illness, accident or homicide is horrible in itself....something I don't think any parent ever gets over. Not knowing what happened to your child has got to be the worst.
And the poor babies that are missing....how terrifying for them to be snatched up suddenly from life as they know it. What they must endure, be it long term or short, before being returned or mercifully having the torture end in death.
I am not a huge fan of capital punishment but ANYONE that harms a child is well deserving of the death penalty in my mind. There should be no if's, and's or but's about this. The sentence should be automatic with no right to appeal and no discrimination for age.

I used to take care of an 86 year old man. He cried so hard when Elizabeth Smart was found....he was so happy. He never turned off the news waiting to hear if she was okay. He also was engrossed in Lacey Peterson's story. He died before they found her....it woud have broken his heart.
As far as the death penalty goes....why does it take so long to do it? Why sit on death row for 20 years or more? Get it over with and end that suffering of the victims and their families. and I believe Canada should reinstate it....JMO

my ex-sister in law was murdered by some guy she was seeing. He was in a custody dispute with his ex-girlfriend at the time...the motherf***er killed his 3 year old son not once by shooting him in the back of the head but twice....then shooting his 7 year old daughter after that.
He proceeded to dump his kids over a bridge near Chicago as if they were garbage. The only explaination of my ex-sis in law death is she must have saw something she wasn't suppose to. The family couldn't even have a open casket for us to say goodbye to her. She was shot point blank in the back of the head.
She left behind two sons and I can't even imagine what that poor mother of those two babies is going through today. To me life wouldn't be much worth living if something happened to my 3 boys!

There should be no if's, and's or but's about this Appeals, appeals, appeals.... and twist things around until we, the people, should actually have PITY with the monsters....
I have NO MERCY nor pity for them. I'm against the death penalty, but I think that anybody who does something to helpless children should be locked away forever, with the key thrown in the middle of the ocean. .

The World's most Wanted did a story on missing children in America which prompted me to try to patent a gps locator watch. It was waterproof, and could be activated by touch if a child or even adult was being attacked. It was tamperproof like those the criminals wear and it could even start a recording to identify the murderers voice. I gave the patent away to Bell Electronics in Cali. they said after signing a zillion releases, that they would make the watch and get it on the market faster than I could. Still it's not on the market and that was back in 1998. I would love to have one for my kids to wear, coal minors could have been saved with one, as well as mountain climbers or skiiers. Along with that, anyone in a storm like Katrina, etc. It would locate a missing person. Why isn't it on the market? I wrote to the company, and even Fox news, explaining, why don't we have this out yet. I could be saving lives right now. Still even tho we have the technowlegy to save lives, we aren't doing it. Not to mention wages for dectectives, police, and the like. No more waiting 24 hours before you find out if someone is dead or alive. They make something similar for our criminals for free, but can't get it on the market to save lives, go figure. tc Lost

Well, Losted, I see more effort put into anti-shoplifting devices than in your idea.
Sad that it couldn't come to market soon. It would also serve as a deterrent, not knowing if kids had them.
Humans inhumanity to other humans is sad indeed.

I watched Dateline last evening on how 2 teenage girls were captured and then forced to perform prostitution in Toledo, OH. I had no idea how these truckers use these young girls, knowing they are only in their early teens. It made me sick to see it on tv how they request these young girls. Thankfully these two girls escaped and the pimp was brought to justice. It was a ring of prostitution - they sell the girls once they're taught all the moves, transport them out of state for bigger parties, etc. I say lock them up and throw away the key.
