With £55,000 raised last year for The Joshua Foundation, it was hard to beat, but this year the Miss Wales finalists topped it at a whopping £75,000! ($150,000)
The Miss Wales 2008 finals were held last night and when I saw my daughter on the Cat Walk I was so proud of her, I can't tell you how that feels, I couldn't even begin to.
Eight of us had a table right at the front of the stage and I can whistle. Oh, I can whistle, loud isn't the word, and that girl had more whistles than any of the other contestants put together. She did a fine job, her father would have been so proud of her.
She has come a long way in a short space of time, she has gained confidence, something she never had before and I see her as less of a child now...so as from today we have two adults in this house.
Although she didn't win, or come in as a runner up, she thoroughly enjoyed the experience and especially the fundraising events.
I remember when she first entered and they asked her when she felt happiest in her life, she said when she did her run for cancer to raise funds for charity. She said ''I did Mum, I felt so happy that day, the happiest I have ever been.'' I only wish I could have seen that, but I was in Scotland at the time.
Thank you to everyone on MD who helped by supporting The Joshua Foundation and supporting "My Special Miss."

I'm just as proud for you of her as if she had won! She is a beautiful girl by all means but being a good person also is what makes her a winner. I'm glad I got to be a tiny part of the succes just by buying a liitle book I love. ~*~

Life is all about experiences. My three most memorable experiences involve 2 second places and a third place.
Just to make the effort to get there is admirable. Congrats to both of you.

It is all about the journey....isn't it then?
Learning just that at her age is invaluable.
You are an excellent teacher, just by living your life as you do......Little Miss proves it to you everyday. And so so the rest of them.
