Their journey had no beginning, it had no end.....it always was...just theirs.
And over a lifetime they could not kiss, nor touch in public, for fear those feelings they shared would lead them into uncontrolled abandon. Feelings so unexplainable and defined; desperate, hopeless, like a mother for her dying child, like someone in free fall, grasping thin air. Feelings so raw, they felt unnatural, boundless, and so unacceptable by the normal eye, they dared not expose them to the naked eye.
It was a marriage bound by putting pen to paper, yet beyond legal tender. There was no signature between them powerful enough to override the immense craving and wantonness, even that which monogamy represented.
Description is lost even to history, or some idol cleric's dreams of perfect eternal fidelity. The promiscuity of their relationship went far beyond that of normal lovers. Lovers jolted awake night after night to find themselves sleeping with a stranger. Love and its making so vividly intense and freeing to the soul that the lovers were transformed to meet again and again....strangers, yet, familiar lovers. And night after night for a lifetime they would revel in a love that sated their desire and freed their very souls.
Time could not take away the simple glance that drew forth the hunger, that turned their common gestures to script on stone. A touch wouldn't suffice, nor a word, or thought, for the mere suggestion of presence would catapult them inward, where substance became immaterial. Two turning hearts lost in a whirlpool that blended their life's blood to flow as one. Undefinable epic love....liquid, non-extinguishable fire.
Two lovers, married for life, blinded by an all consuming lust....that would never, could never, die. The ease of their lives passed in minutes, hours, days and the years turned gray and cloudy...but inside the lovers hearts, the sparks flew in vivid colors of passion......they embraced without touching, they hugged with their eyes blurry and blind. They sighed as their bodies refused to bend, they clasped hands and their thoughts made love instead...
