Ever wonder why so many people in the world do things they know people are going to make fun of them for? That people believe in something so strongly that they feel like telling everyone even though they know they are going to get bad looks, called names, thought of foolishly, ridiculed, among other things from a lot of people? My emails get so bad on matchdoctor from people who have a problem with some of the contents of my blogs that I almost don't read any of them anymore.
Well, that is what it is like to be a christian nowadays. Now mind you I am not complaining, I would never complain about being a christian. That's just the way it is and I accept it. I only bring this up to illustrate that no matter how we get treated we remain true to our beliefs.
So why such devotion? Love! Love from God makes us happy. So much so that the love we receive is like a secret we just can't hide. Not only must we share the secret but also show it to everyone else. Now we might not be perfect all the time and sometimes it looks like we lack love but that is only because we are human and subject to mistakes like anyone else. But if our faith is true and our love is real then we should quickly bounce back from whatever is bothering us.
Love is contagious if you are willing to catch it. Love brings joy to the heart. Loving everyone(yes, to include those who don't like me) helps you not hurt others. Others feel good about themselves when they know someone out there cares about them. Most important though is that loving people makes God happy. And making God happy is why we do what we do!
