He made it to Oklahoma.
We had a wonderful time, hanging out, going to the zoo, and sharing lots of laughs. But although we were both open to it, the magic faded and we parted as friends.
He's a wonderful man who will always hold a special place in my heart and he will make some girl very happy some day. I admire his courage in traveling half way across the country to meet a dream.
This experience has only reinforced my belief in three things:
Never lose hope.
Never give up.
And never be afraid to take a chance.
Magic is still in the air on MD. Feel it, love it, live it.

Thank you, both of you, for showing "us" that although the two of you met in person, you didn't have to end up "a couple". It's nice to see "adults" who know themselves well enough, and aren't afraid to be vocal to the other about your true feelings. Gosh, I hope that made sense.

Thanks for sharing your story Mom. It often baffles me how some people consider friendship somehow "less than" a romantic relationship. Not in my book!

Thank you for being open and honest. it was nice to follow.
The odds on anyone having the chemistry after meeting on a dating site are so low,
the odds are low in real life too, it doesn't happen too often.
I am sure you had a super time and thank you for being you Mom.

I have just seen this blog.....and agree with many of the lovely and positive comments. I have been down that road myself.....a few times....taking a chance. And found it all worthwhile....and still have the lovely memories of it. Chemistry is something we can hope for......but not always predict. There can be sadness and disappointment attached to it........but focussing on the positive aspects of it......seeing the merits in it......as in the willingness to travel....the kindness of that person.......and the promise of continued friendship......is something very cherished.......that often stays with us. Friendship is a very special gift also......and not to be taken so lightly.....and if it nurtured......can live in the heart forever. I think your both pretty wonderful people for giving it a shot.

Thank you so much for sharing this journey with us.
Me, I will never totally give up hope, and your blogs here greatly helped that, but I have become comfortable with the conclusion that it will probably always be just me and my critters and I am much more relaxed now (which seems to have gotten me more date offers, go figure).
