As I whent threw my garden..Who was the first person to EVER want to eat a tomatoe?Expecially a green one. I looked it up on the net..and I read, that people in the 18th century thought that they were poison, and never ate them. It's a veggie...yet it has blobby seeds on the inside, wich makes it a fruit? GAD!! So...they are fruit?
Then I got ta-thinkin'....Who thought to drink from a cow? Or eat thoes veggies,or fruits that smell bad or burn your mouth like fire??
Hmmmm...or give them names. Who thought to say "ahh..that white stuff..we shall call it ..milk." lol.
was this a stupid blog or what...

Somewhere I heard that the reason they thought tomatoes were poisonous is because they ate with dinnerware that contained lead, and the tomatoes would leach the lead out of the dinnerware and the diners would get lead poisoning. Don't know how much of that is true...
Anyway...
I've always wondered...who was the first person that was hungry enough to discover that artichokes are edible?

Not stupid at all! I think about stuff like that too.
I think there are a lot of things people eat that make you wonder who the brave soul was that first decided to try it, like pineapples, sea urchins, and I really wonder who first decided to beat the hell out of a coconut to try what was inside!
EF, I've heard that about tomatoes before also.

when you think about it, someone, somewhere, sometime had to come up with the words we speak today.
which leads one to wonder, "how in the hell could somebody come up with antidisestablismentarianism and it mean something?"
they were either idiots, or geniuses with too much time on their hands.

I think the best one is eggs…. Now I’d like to know who saw that drop out of a chicken and said, Hey, let’s try eating it…
