I used to think that those who's profiles strongly warned away GAME PLAYERS were perhaps over reacting, being defensive or chasing away prospects by expecting the worst. Yes, I've had people write and then disappear, send a stupid introduction, or offer excuses, even after professing "undying love."...hmmm, move on.
How I wish.
I've been played.
I invest much more into this web site than I ever could in an encounter at a local night spot. Here, we use bare words, forming thoughts to be critiqued, understood, misunderstood-all without the saftey net of body language, deflection, recovery or tone. I think many will agree that this is a very emotionally draining form of communication. Three years of misses and near hits, I'm harder now, but still more optimistic than I can reason.
The player:
We wrote, we talked, for hours at a time. He loved me, wanted to grow old together. I thought perhaps I found my true love. Our chance to meet: I do charity work. I accompanied a group of Chernobyl children on recuperative holiday to St Louis last month. He was in East Texas. He planned his trip. We communicated for another week. The day before, He e-mails me, "I'm jumping in the car now, I'm making a quick stop at the Dallas office and then I'll be on my way. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon."
He never came, he never called. I know he's alive, my friend, without my knowledge, wrote him a strong reprimand. The guy's excuse??? He's a government witness and he didn't want the Russian mafia to hurt me once I got home......I swear this.
I know that Russian women have their own reputation, I will give them his e-mail address.
So I think I'll change my profile to read: NO GAME PLAYERS ALLOWED.
But that is a problem, game players love a challenge, and they love to play, no matter the cost.

soory you had one of them but you have to find a way to find them out ,there are ways,unfortunately you find the one you think is it they use all the words you never thought you would hear and then bang they need money its so sad you and i and whole bunch of people have to go thru this

I've read many profiles that said...... "No game players!" and I"ve always wondered if it wouldn't serve as more a challenge....... rather than a deterrent. Since game players seem to care for nobody beyond themselves, I can't see them reading that phrase and thinking.......... Oh, DARN..... guess I can't write to her now.
Guys like that, unfortunately, give all men an undeserved reputation.
