Some of these "facts" are made up. Some are true. Guess which is which.

A woman in Kansas once sat on a toilet for so long the skin on her butt grew around the seat.

Albert Einstein never learned to drive.

French was the official language of England for over 600 years.

Beetles taste like apples, wasps like pine nuts, and worms like fried bacon.

In 1386, a pig in France was executed by public hanging for the murder of a child.

The skeleton of Jeremy Bentham is present at all important meetings of the University of London.

Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian, and had only one testicle.

Owls are the only birds who can see the color blue.

Dolphins sleep with one eye open.

*Edit* I will reveal what is truth and what is fiction later on this afternoon... But you can't say "I KNEW IT!" afterward if you don't post a comment stating what you believe to be the truth...

The answer is - All of them are true to some degree. A woman once spent two years sitting on a toilet and had her skin attach itself to the seat. French was the official language of England for a while, and Albert Einstein never was licensed to drive. (and was divorced as well) Then things become more subjective.

I'll give you an example of how the truth is misleading. There is an old saying that says a pig can not look up at the sky. However, this is only true when a pig is standing. When a pig is lying down it surely can look upwards. When web sites report this, they simply state (incorrectly) that pigs can not look up at the sky, forgetting about the pig's position at that moment.

Another example of this is Hitler's health during his final years. Hitler was not a vegetarian, although he did shun most meats later in his life. However, his eating habits were irregular and not healthy in the slightest. (He reportedly drank his tea with 7 spoons of sugar.) The missing testicle? A fabrication by a Soviet doctor who allegedly performed an autopsy on Hitler. No record of his single testicle exists beyond that autopsy report, which was later admitted to be false. However, if you search on Google for "Hitler one testicle" hundreds of web sites will tell you he was a one-balled vegetarian.

Therefore, many of the remaining facts are true as far as I can tell. I have verified all of them with at least two sources. However, who is to say those two sources would not also state that a pig can not look up to the sky, or that Hitler was missing one of his best buddies and only ate vegetables?

Sometimes the truth isn't as truthful as you believe.

I agree with you I.M....Glad to know that others want to look up the background on these things, too...I just don't have time, at the moment.

I truly do not know whether or not these statements are fact or fiction, but, you MUST admit..they ARE interesting. f I had to make any judgment, I'd say that more are probably true than false....but that's not a scientific answer.

Can't wait til the OP tells us...
