I have been minding my business and muddling through my work today along with making polite small talk with people as they come and go. Now, when I first get here I have just completed feeding, watering, and haying all of my farm-life at home and I often drive my scooter on in to work. So by the time I get here I am ready for a cold drink, head straight for the fridge and pop a Coke. Today I felt adventurous and decided on a Cherry Coke. I took a few swigs and set it down. It hasn't been at all hot today, it has been an unseasonably cool day so I have drank slowly on it throughout the day. There was about a fourth of it left when I got so busy I forgot about it so it sat by its lonesome on my break room table. Awhile ago I decided to go finish it before I made coffee (I hate waste). I took a BIG drink , swallowed, then nearly choked on a lump. I thought, "Cherry Coke does not have cherries in it. " So instinctively I coughed, hacked, spat out the mysterious 'lump'. . . . . . . . then watched it quickly crawl away!!! It is still a mystery to a degree. It was a hard-shelled black beetle of some kind.....some kind I had never seen before........
Needless to say, I am no longer hungry. And no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the feeling of those scratchy feet out of my throat.... And I absolutely had to share my story with my wonderful friends on MD. Enjoy your Coke

YUCK!!! Now I lost my appetite toooooo!
Can up you tho... in college I studied zoo keeping which means working outside all the time crawling round in bushes and stuff, much like farm work. This was in Florida.
I started having dizzy spells, then fainting. The docs could NOT figure out what was wrong. Test after test showed nothing so they finally sent me to an audiologist.
He took this long dohickey and stuck it in my ear then he sort of reared back and said "I'll be damned!"
I was like what??? He had me look in the scope... a little bitty wood roach walked out of my ear canal and into the scope... kinda like going through to the light. LOL
EWWWW it had been in there for WEEEEEEEKKKSSS!! Apparently bugs get in your ear and get lost and can't find their way out because it's dark in there. They walk around on the tiny hairs and that causes the imbalances!
Grosssss me outttttt! Now I'm super duper careful about my ears when I'm working outside!

Eewwww!!!! Saw something similar in a movie once, but yours was real. yuk! And for weeks! I bet you still get the shivers just thinking about it. I can't imagine how off-balance you must have been. Can't believe you fainted, too. How awful!
I have another one in the same category, though....I was at the lake, outside at the picnic table preparing dinner for my little family. I was peeling carrots and cutting them into sticks (my kids love 'em with dip). I was drinking on a regular Coke as I worked, nibbling on a bite of carrot every now and then. I popped a bite of carrot into my mouth, took a drink of Coke, then began to chew up the carrot. I thought, "Man! this carrot is really tough!" I spit it out into my napkin only to find out that it wasn't a carrot but a wiggly honey bee! Now half dead, of course. Boy, was I EVER lucky I didn't get stung. (Yes, it was in the Coke). Think I'll switch to iced tea......

Good gosh! How DISGUSTING!
I knew there was a reason why I prefer to pour my soft drinks out of the cans into a glass over ice!
