I've had a hole in my heart since my Patches died.
I have a plaque that hangs in my hallway that says "Home is Where the Cat Is" and I believe that with all my heart. My house has felt empty without a feline friend to share it with.
Booboo has missed PatchyCat, too. If you asked her, "Boo...where's the kitty?" she would run off in search of her old friend. It was heartbreaking.
Last weekend we found out that a neighbouring city's SPCA had an influx of cats...so many, in fact, that they were having a 'sale' on felines. For a mere $25 you could adopt a kitty that was spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on its shots. It didn't take much persuading to get Ken to head out there. We loaded Booboo in the car and headed out.
First up, we had a look at a cute little black and white kitty. She was adorable and had lived with a dog in her previous home, but she seemed a bit shy, and Ken kept saying that dirty word....DECLAW. I do NOT believe in declawing a cat...that is a torture I would never make a kitty of mine endure.....BUT! What about a cat that was already declawed? I didn't do it...somebody else did. All the benefits with none of the guilt! I asked about declawed kitties....
And that led me to our new baby.
Immediately upon introduction to Booboo, this kitty ADORED her! And Boo loves him just as much. They are so cute to watch at play...he's the perfect fit in the family.
And now, making his MD debut...Meet Booboo's best friend...what else could we name him but
YOGI

Gorgeous! Glad he found a forever home with you. I had a black cat too. HIs name was Smutley. You'd swear Garfield was patterned after him. He had a very sarcastic sense of humor and was best pals with my dog. He hated other cats but he loved dogs.
His name was originally Warlock... but we'd come home from work and the house would be utterly trashed and he'd be sitting there all proud of himself in the middle of a disaster. My boyfriend would growl... get that smutley look off your face!!! Then we'd chase him around the house till everyone was rolling around laughing.
If you swatted him he'd do a "drive by." He'd wait till you weren't looking then run 100 mph through the room and bounce off you or swat you and keep on going.
Never gonna be another cat like him!

What I meant to say was, if I was to have a cat, I would choose one that had already been declawed, not that I agree with it at all, but I don't like getting clawed by cats.
I didn't even know they did that to cats, until I read this, how cruel.
