My last boyfriend, used to put a lot of items in the attic for storage, I think he knew what he was doing; Leaving me an unwelcome reminder of him, his ‘legacy.’
It has to be completely cleared today, I’ve been dreading this day. I’m useless on a ladder for starters and there’s nobody here to secure the base, not that that would make any difference; Three rungs up and I’m shaking in my boots.
I have taken items from there in the past, but they’ve been close to the entrance and I haven’t had to get up inside the attic to get them.
After putting up the ladder and light, the attic door almost fell on me…I started to think about my friend who fell from her attic last year, she ended up in hospital in a serious way, which resulted in spinal surgery recently. I began to reconsider.
I had no idea what a dangerous place an old attic can be, hard hats are recommended because of the beams and any protruding roofing nails. You will need rubber gloves to stop you possibly being electrocuted, preferably electrician’s gloves. Of course there’s the chance you could end up falling through the ceiling too.
Just the thought of being up in that space scares me.
I’ve decided that I can’t possibly do this, there are a lot of bulky items up there, it‘s a man‘s job. I’m not sure why some women insist that males and females are equal, because we are not, not by a long way.
I’ve managed to arrange for someone else to clear it later on this evening. I’m not a worrier, but when you have a few hundreds of pound’s worth of work booked in for the following day, it certainly causes a small degree of concern.
I felt lonely at the bottom of my ladder today.

I felt lonely at the bottom of my ladder today. We've all felt that way at the bottom of the ladder, though few of us can express that feeling so poignantly.
Thank you for reading my comment.

I think that 's an excuse when people are more selfish , not very helpful and they take no concerns but being please each other in the other ways of love and joy instead.I grew up where most of hard works just for men but the point is they are proud to be men and protecting women. from being in danger. heheh! but not my x chinese at all.we always find worker to do for us.

Thank you for not trying to be Superwoman....I hate the thought of you ending up in the hospital.
"lonely at the bottom of the ladder" sums up how I've felt a lot lately. I'm going to remember that phrase.

I fell through the attic once, it was not fun. I just barely managed to catch myself. Come to think of it, it was because of the ex. I was getting things down that I wanted. Next time will let them "rot in hell" before I go and get them.

I like going in the attic because it is so mysterious. Every movement must be measured, one false move could be disaster.

basements and attics are full of mystery and darkness.
the insulation isn't good for your lungs either.
