Last blog I was numb. I did some crying the next day. It took a bit of time to get through the shock but I am still aghast at all the people that stayed.
Now I am ranting a bit about technology. Hey, it would be nice if I could see the ground that used to harbor my beach house. *sigh* The insurance adjuster is an awesome person. He is going OUT THERE to Bolivar but he is hoping that the satellite pix will do to collect the insurance.
If not, then he will have to brave the broken bridge at Rollover Pass. >>> Rollover Pass Bridge After Ike <<< I won't go across that bridge. I used to have nightmares about bridges when I was a child. The bridge in the back of the ranch we lived on would lose boards during floods and shook when we drove across it. Nope, no way would I cross that bridge at Rollover.
Right now I am on an older computer I inherited from my mother. My puter kicked the bucket again and I cannot see repairing it yet again. I was looking around for a good replacement and using this one til I got another one. In the meantime, I need to fill out insurance forms that are adobe generated and not owning the adobe product, I can't fill it out. Add to that, I do not know how to use Excel which is another choice or print it out and fill it out then scan it and fax it.
Well, this computer is missing a program that runs the harware usb ports and I can't get the printer to work. Next choice is to save my recently downloaded program for the printer I did when I could not find the cd for it...to a memory stick and put it on the laptop and try to get the laptop to print my insurance papers. Soooo, I am at the point of wanting to get my handy dandy chain saw out (no, not cut up the puter or printer) and go take out my frustrations and anger on one of those poor helpless dead trees.
I may just go take me and my friend, Jeff out to eat at Taco Ole for the fajitas and then look at the insurance paperwork. I need to get it done this weekend so I will be at the top of the list.
They say next week Bolivar residents can go see their property. Do I really want to do that? Not sure. I would not mind looking for my giant chain that was in the house. I sure bet it did not go far if the house splintered. I may invest in a metal detector.

Now spirit, that stinks! Not like you don't have enough on your plate. Maybe someone close has the software on their computer & will let you use theirs.

Sorry to hear about your trials... Windows XP should automatically find your usb ports with plug and play... ? IF p+p is set up in bios.
You should be able to download the relevant drivers anyway, just search for motherboard drivers on the site of the manufacturers of your motherboard...
It should tell you what it is on the boot up screen ... Asus, Abit, Gigabyte, Soltek, Via, SiS, Intel etc...

Spirit I am so sorry for all the problems you are having. Hurricane Ike sure did a number on Texas, didn't he? If you need some help on the week ends, just holler. You're only a few hours away by car and I have week ends free.

Mom, I meant to be able to write into an adobe program, you have to own the paid program. That is a free reader, like powerpoint, it has a free reader but costs to use the program to write.
