first off, thank you for the wonderful words and prayers. they have helped tremendously!

the bad news first, and it's not too bad. i have been told firmly by a mechanic NOT to drive the car. so even adding fluid into the transmission would not get me far. considering that a transmission cooler and a headlight is all i need, i'm not complaining.

the good news now. other than being very tired, (stress whacked blood sugars), i'm a bit sore but otherwise fine. actually slept most of the night, amen!

other good news, i looked on the autozone website and i found my part for around 18 dollars. or it could be the 118 dollar one(not sure until i call). either way, it's not bad. i'm going to call a salvage yard tomorrow (monday) and price a complete headlight and transmission cooler through them. and all we'll need is a crescent wrench if i heard right to change it out. then the extra fluid to put into it.

so i may be unable to drive for a week or two, but considering all that could have happened, i'm not complaining one bit.

one thing does concern me though. when i do get behind the wheel again, how will the wreck affect me? i know for certain that no matter what, i'm avoiding that intersection at all costs.

paul says thank you too for your love and prayers. he agrees with wolfmist, the care is replaceable, i am not.

Glad to read the bad news isn't as bad as it could be & the good news is better than it could have been.

You'll always remember the accident & it'll help in making you & others more "defensive" drivers. But don't let the memory of it scare you . . . accidents are just that; they can happen anywhere, anytime.
Good luck with having the part be the less expensive one!

I was with my mom when I was younger and this car full of teenagers came zooming thru a redlight at an intersection and slammed right into us. After that I was very skittish about being in a car. Every time a car got too close or looked like it was pulling out too soon, I'd freak out. LoL

That feeling went away after I was in a car with my sister and she got rear ended. It was weird. Being in an accident caused it and then another accident cured it.

Its normal to be a little skittish. But i'll pass!

Glad your okay!

Have a great day!

Glad to hear that you are ok and the parts needed are not too expensive.
I was thinking if you can't drive your car maybe with another driver borrow their car and go to that intersection if there is a quiet time there and drive through it again, this will help you get your nerve back to face that intersection again as a driver

Duffy's right... you're just gonna have to go through it. I got T-boned with my eldest in the car when she was just a year old. The car hit on her side but she was fine. I, on the other hand, tore ligaments in my knee kicking the door open so I could get out. Cars didn't even slow down with both my car and the other in the middle of the intersection. I was desperate to get her out of there before we got hit again.

Now I'm a LOT more cautious and people tease me when I'm pulling out from a stop sign because I wait till I have a HUGE clear space. LOL But in the 17 years since that accident, I've never even had a close call because of my cautious driving.

ty all. i agree duffy and wolf, and as soon as the car is running, i'm gonna go ahead and face my demon. i've learned that once i do, then i don't fear the thing anymore. people behind me will hate me cause now i'm waiting until a fricking country mile is available..lol

I'm glad no one was seriously hurt, & I agree with what others have said. It will take time to relax the nerves, but you'll regain your driving confidence. Fingers crossed that your replacement parts are on the lower end of the price scale. Prayers are with you every day, no matter what the day has in store, my friend.
