Ever have those moments when you pass yourself coming and going? Ever have times when you are not sure where you're supposed to be and what you should be doing? I have now entered that Twilight Zone !!!!!
Kendall started his new job today up by Chicago, I won't get to see him for almost 2 weeks. I am doing my best to keep up a brave front but it's not that easy (I cried for 3 hours after he left yesterday) . We will be able to talk on the phone several times a day but it's not the same as seeing each other in person. He is currently staying with a friend and his family and they barely have room for him. So for now we have to settle for every other weekend until the middle of November. We will take turns each time as to who goes to visit who on those weekends.
Once we have an apartment to ourselves and I will be living up there with him the majority of the time. The rest of the time I will be back here (3 hours away) looking after things here at home and taking care of local business. We are going to be having work done on the house he owns here and we will need to come back and see how things are progressing and visit family and friends. I will come back by train in the middle of the week and Kendall will drive down that weekend and we will go back together.
So I guess you could say I will have dual citizenship in two cities for the next 2 or 3 years. It's kind of like the country mouse moving to the city......this town that we live in only has about 30,000 and I don't even want to try to figure out the population in the Chicago suburbs.........I don't plan on venturing more than 5 blocks from home by myself for fear of getting lost........LOL
The worse part is that I will have leave my dog behind. It is impossible to find some one to rent to you if you have a dog. Some will allow pets but they put a 25 lb weight limit on them and my Snuffy is closer to 55 lbs, I don't think I could sneak that by them. So, Snuffy will go to live with my son and his friends.......I have to leave behind both of my babies but I know they will take care of each other. At least I can visit them once a month and hopefully when we move back home I will bring Snuffy back to live with us again.
But for the next 3 years I will become a regular customer of Amtrak and Chicago Metra Trains and get to know that highways well between here and Chicago. I just hope I don't pass myself on the way......it would be weird to be sitting on the train and see myself waiting at the crossing gates for the train to pass..........LOL

Oh Car, that sucks. BUT at least you won't have to go for MONTHS without him! Trust me, its worth it. All the traveling and time apart, only makes the time you are together even better! Once you get to where Duvvy and I are, its bliss!
Take care, and be careful on all your travels!

Train travel is much faster and more plaesant if you ride in the club car.
Best of luck to you in your new living mode.

Oh Girl! I feel for ya!
I do hope that you see this also as an opportunity - see what's up there in Chicago-land, broaden your horizons! (may I live vicariously through you?? I have never been, but want to go!)
