AIG is the insurance company who insures the mortgage companies...
WHY are we being asked to not only bail out AIG, but all the lenders who they insure ??
Think about that for a moment.
Think about it again...
An insurance company who is covering companies who have had fraudulent dealings needs our help. So, we are getting ready to sell our freedom to bail out the insurance companies AND their clients.
Something is really wrong here. Make the mortgage companies renegotiate their loans. You're dishonest? Put people BACK into the houses they have lost by default. Do it now.
Giving $700 BILLION without restraint, without recourse, without any court in the land being able to review (should fraud be suspected) having no say how this money gets spent, having no representation by Citizens of The United States say-so is NOT a plan... it's a ransom note !
I'm shouting FRAUD.
How do we pay for this? Simple... taxation. Unless they have some other wonderful plan.
Tell your children to forget about retirement funds.
Fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna get pretty bumpy...

You got that right partner! The idea of giving 700 billion dollars to an insurance company and banks is cause for great concern. Especially with the likes of Bush and Cheney in the Captains seat. I agree, these people should be put back in their homes and allowed to pay a fair rate that is based on their income. The insurance industry is just a bunch of bottom feeding rodents. If they want to make money insuring mortgage companies then they should dam well be able to pay when the companies go under. The tax payers should not have to pick up the tab for corporate millionaires.

Rather than get paranoid and go Jerry Springer on this why don't you all try to read what REALLY happened.
The US Treasury owns 80% of the stock in this company now. They could very well make a bloody fortune on this. While this practice (Gov't profiting on the stock market) is questionable, it is a smart move as it stabilizes the credit stream. AIG is not only an insurance company. That idea is pure ignorance.
The Democrats, including Obama immediately approved this move.
If you are not willing to read what really happened you may want to ignore current events like this. There is no benefit in telling falsehoods and getting people more scared than they are.

Here is my question, I have asked it of my father who spends alot of time watching all of the news shows and he says he has not seen anything about my question, but it is an interesting point.
Ready?!!!!
when Fanny and Freddie started to go under it was important but not crucial that they get help. There was time for negotation, and planning on the part of the government to maybe fix this. When it was AIG it had to be fixed now. Bail them out and make it better now. Is it asfe to assume all of these folks (including but not limited to Mr. Bush) have bet the farm on AIG. Are some very important people fixin to lose everything because of this. How many of our congress and senate hold huge pieces of this company and might lose everything? Did Bush and countless others in power use some kind of inside info to buy into it and now they are in a panic?
Has anyone got any answers to this. I have heard some speculation but no real answers.

There is a reason why people can't afford to pay for the houses they live in. They don't make enough money. Why let them stay in these big houses? Make them move to smaller ones that they can afford.
To me they are no better than the common thief if they are helped by the government. They will be stealing the hard-earned money from people like me that can control their spending habbits and live conservatively.
You know what's coming next. Real high taxes to pay for all this foolishness and the loans (remember the stimulus package) that you received earlier this year.
Better hurry up and learn a foreign language, because this country it dying and for sale. Cheap!

I would say a vast amount has been stolen from the tax payer in the past two bush administrations.
And now, on his way out, he wants to give away anything that is left, cash or credit.
