Throughout my life I've picked up some really unique quirks about me, & I'm not sure why. I guess it's just part of my personality & who I am. They say we all have something about us that would amaze or entertain others. These are just a few of the things I can think of....
-- can imitate many cartoon character voices -- can name the type of horn on top of a locomotive by just seeing it or hearing it -- remember old addresses, phone numbers, license plates, etc., even years later -- can identify pretty much any kind of spider, frog, insect, or freshwater fish -- I sleep with a fan all year long for air movement & white noise (I cannot sleep in a dead silent room) -- when I was younger, anything that had smoke, steam or water coming out of it amazed me (tailpipes, chimneys, eave spouts / down spouts, culverts, etc.) -- when I was younger I had a thing for water towers -- I am a highway sign junkie & even have a program that can create the type of highway shield for any state, & also for U.S. & Interstate highways. I also am a map junkie & love to find out where highways begin & end, how deep lakes are, & what cities a various railroad serves. OK, I'm curious to hear what some of the interesting / strange / unique things are that ya'll can do. *HUGS & FOOTRUBS* ladies.. *HANDSHAKES* guys......

- Reading maps.... I can find a nice camping spot off a good map (if the map is correct, which many aren't when it comes to "wilderness"....) I can find any spot and any address, as long as it's on a map.
- Words, their exact meaning and very exact use.
- Foreign languages and their sounds.... I can generally (not always though) identify a foreign language by it's sounds, even if I don't talk that language at all. (It must be one of the "bigger" languages, though, not one of the many hundreds African languages for example...)
- Eating weird foreign foods.... (but I drew the line at bugs.... )
- When I was younger, I could memorize strings of numbers: phone numbers, way-bill numbers (I worked in shipping, and a regular way-bill has about 11 digits...) Now, that is not so easy anymore, but still possible...
This is a fun blog.... .

Despite living in Southern Belle Country, I'm the ONLY WOMAN I KNOW who HANDWRITES, STAMPS AND ACTUALLY MAILS "thank you" notes!
Jeesh--what is THAT about? I mean, I KNOW I overdue it (I send them out, for things as everyday as my getting a ride to church), but gosh, I buy them cheap at Dollar Stores and the world is ALREADY a CRUEL ENOUGH PLACE
Wierd, I think.....NICE WIERD, though; and so, I'm gonna hang on, to this trait, and hope my preteen girls pick it up, too.

I despise everybody's feet except my own. I can't let them touch me or I freak out.
I don't like the way certain fabrics feel. If they "catch" on my skin I won't let them near me.
I love to read, anything and everything, including the lists of ingredients on packages. I like to try to figure out the pronunciation of some of the stranger ingredients.
My two favourite words in the English language are "pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis" and "antidisestablishmentarianism".
I love to stare at maps for ages, too. When Carrie Underwood came out with her song, "I Ain't In Checotah Anymore" I had to look on the map to see if Checotah really is where 69 meets 40. (It is, btw)
I love science. Looking thru a microscope gives me a rush. I missed my calling...I should have been a biologist

Let's see....I'm not sure if they are quirks but here goes...
I love to watch autobiographies of famous people...see what makes them tick...much in the same way I ask zillions of questions when I meet someone new....insatiable curiosity.
If I ever find myself in a graveyard..which isn't often, I do enjoy reading the tombstones....it's kind of a history thing.
Lastly, I hate drinking out of plastic cups!! There is just something about the tinkling icecubes in a real glass that makes everything taste better!
