Last night as I watched the Vice Presidential debate I came away thinking that it is unfortunate that we the people are not always given the right impressions of certain candidates. If you watch the media and their reports of Sarah Palin you would think she is the worst candidate ever. She is a baffoon and is way too scary for this country to be anywhere near the White House.

After the debate was over I couldn't help but think that this scary baffoon is my kind of candidate. Is she the most skilled or polished candidate ever? No. Does she have the Washington experience that senators have? No. But to me these are assets for her. She runs a state as a Governor and that was easy to tell in the answers she gave. That is better experience then being a senator any day. We have plenty of skilled, polished and experienced politicians in Washington right now and they are destroying this country. I think this country would be better off without these skilled, polished and experienced politicians.

Sarah Palin is the first candidate I have seen in a long time if ever that genuinely is not power hungry and self serving. When I listened to what she said I got the feeling that she really does care what Americans are going through and how to help them. In other words, she is like normal people and not a career politician making decisions based on keeping their jobs. The best part of about her is that she just seems so genuine. She doesn't seem like an act and just up there telling people what they want to hear.

If I had my way, and this may seem crazy to you, but I would rather have her as the candidate for President rather then John McCain. To me, she is a better candidate then Barack Obama and Joe Biden. I truly believe she would put the interest of the country ahead of her own. Do any of you get that impression of any senators that they put country first and their own needs second?

I keep hearing that she makes people scared that she will be a heart beat away from being President. But I say it is too bad she is not the heartbeat. Call me naive, but don't you think the Congress would be better off if we got rid of all these career senators and replaced them with 100 Sarah Palins? We might not have the most experienced senators, but we would have ones that actually want to serve us and not their own needs.

What you said has a lot of substance! And yes, as I watched the debate, I was wondering why these two weren't the pres... candidates instead of Obama and McCain.

Does anyone here really believe that Palin could have run in the primarys and have beaten McCain,Romney and Giulini ?

Let's get real here. She would not have made it out of New Hampshire for cryin' out loud.

If any of you here believe Palin could have won the Republican nomination for President then it doesn't say much for the winner McCain does it ?

I watched the debate and to most every question asked she did not really answer the question asked. In her own words she said " "I may not answer the questions that either the moderator or you want to hear, but I'm going to talk straight to the American people."

She did not demonstrate much depth in policy knowledge, but she managed to display treading-water familiarity with the obvious issues of the day.

And she is something of a winner because there is no videotape footage from the debate that makes her look undeniably like a moron. What did George W. Bush once say about the bigotry of low expectations? Sometimes they can almost work like an affirmative action program.

For someone who could be a heartbeat away from being President we need someone who can recite and tell us more then well-crafted talking points which she used over and over.Hell,I thought for a while she had a stuttering problem...LOL...

Now that this VP debate is over the focus can be on the main contenders.

Game on !

Thanks for the insight. My take on the debate was that if you are a Repub, you will vote for McCain and if you are a Democrat you'll vote for Obama. If you are Independent, you may not even vote though that may be a tragedy. My Point is that there were no significant parts to either side and if the truth be known, I think either of the two candidates would survive a death in the Whitehouse as we all know it isn't a one man (oops person) job anymore. Thats why it is foolish to evaluate their experiences. Experience is good but not the difinitive link to success. I know not the course that others may take, but as for me, give me change or give me another 4 years of hell and high water! Guess you know who I'm voting for

The media is so slanted left. They want Obama to win and will do anything short of wearing Obama buttons on their lapels while reporting. Oh wait that happened in Detroit where a repoter was wearing an Obama for president t-shirt while reporting an Obama for president event. The station she worked for fired her.

Palin looked and sounded good. Kudos to Biden too. He was polite yet stern. When he smiled he knew he was getting whooped.

The bottom line is the American public is not that stupid. Left wing media can spin all they want, but when Nov.4 rolls around, Saner heads will elect John McCain and Sarah Palin for President and Vice President.

I will say she was much better last night. The interview with Katie Couric was a train wreck. The people who coached her did a wonderful job. that being said, she is still way over her head. I think if she had 4 more yrs. of polishing, she might be a great canidate.

She says she has a lot of leadership qualities. I think I do as well. But, I know I don't have the experience to deal with economic, social, and diplomatic policies. Those are a few of the issues that can not be learned as you go.

It will be interesting to see if she will be around later to try running again.....

Seer what happens when the VERY slanted media doesn't do a cut and paste with an interview??

Palin rocked and McCain's numbers are going up.

Here is an unbiased assessment from a reporter from the Wall Street Journal...hardly a Liberal or Conservative entity by any stretch:

The Wall Street Journal’s Peggy Noonan:

“She killed. It was her evening. She was the star. She had him at, ‘Nice to meet you. Hey, can I call you Joe?’ It was very interesting to me, for Palin tonight, for an hour and a half, I think America saw her for a really long time, and she became a star probably on a new level. Gwen Ifill was not there for Sarah Palin. Joe Biden was not there for Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin was there with a camera. It was classic go over the heads of the media and everybody else, talk straight to the American people. She hit every populist chord. It is amazing to me that 15 minutes in, she had Joe Biden on the defensive on the subject of Obama and taxes. … She killed.”

Sarah put Biden on the defense which is just where you want a person to be when debating, That made her good. He also came back with many untruths to try to make his points which quickly were confirmed and came out clearly in the news, and therefore, is that how he plans to run this election? Is that how he's going to run the country? Does anyone want a man who has to bend the truth to get ahead and try to win a simple debate against a woman who hasn't even been in politics as long as him? I find this pretty funny actually, he was really sweating bullets to try to win last night if you ask me, she served him back his own words and also Obamas own words and left him speechless with nothing to rebut except stretching the truth on many occasions. So ya lets be real, give her a little more time and this lady will pass both Biden and Obama up quickly. Hillary watch out. Take care Lost
