It is sad to say, but a lot of guys leave their girlfriends when she finds out that she is pregnant. Everybody always feels sorry for the girl because they are going to have to do everything alone. They are going to be a single mom & she will be responsable for everything. I have been thinking about it & nobody should feel sorry for us, they should feel sorry for the guy. They guy is going to miss hearing that first little heartbeat. The guy is going to miss that first cry, the first smile, the first little giggle, the first time they roll over, the first crawl, the first tooth, the first step, the first word, & every single first that comes with growing up. That is something that you will never get back. The girl's heart may be hurting now because she is alone, but her heart will heal. Missing every important thing is your baby's life is something that you will never get back & you will never get over. So before you start feeling sorry for me or any other single mom, think about the guy who is going to miss everything in that baby's life. That is who you have to feel sorry for.

Good Luck to you...I had My first child at 18 but I was married it was a little easier..now I am going to be a Great Grandmother at 53..my Grandson and the Mother are only 15..its hard but we will be ok..Im sure you will be a great Mom

Good attitude Brookie.  The same thing can be said for fathers who are married to the mother of their child/children but are too busy or too uninterested in sharing all those wonderful firsts.

Your world is about to change forever! I'm sure you know being a teacher that you're a role model and so many look up to you for a good example. Too bad the father didn't have better role models of he'd be enjoying what you've just described.
I was 22 when my first was born and the dad didn't hear her heartbeat, see her ultrasound or feel her move...we were married, he was selfish and self centered. I think it might have been better for us both had he taken the high road! Good luck...hang on and enjoy the ride...it's awesome!

But I cannot feel sorry for anyone who walks away from his responsibilities.
