I remember it well..Its was a little over 3 years ago and I had went to Florida to visit with my kids and grandkids. Stephanie lived in Lake Wales Florida..for those of you that dont know where that is well I will explain..Its a town filled with mud holes, dirt roads, 4 wheel drive trucks, orange groves,wild hog hunting and rednecks..yup its ok I say that because I have family there ..It was the month of October cold out and had been raining so the dirt roads were full of mud puddles to my grand children's delight. It was my last night there before heading back to South Carolina and we had a huge bonfire going roasting marshmallows and hot dogs..we had been taking the kids 4 wheeling up and down the dirt roads with a wagon tied to the back hitting every mud hole and the one to stay on without tipping over got a second ride..well of course the most fun was falling in the mud. Stephanie said Mom when we get the kids to bed you, me and Jenn will go ourselves around the neighborhood..well that sounded good spending time with my sweet girls . Now this is the same girls that pulled a good one on me only a few years before..On that time I came home from a 12 hour shift with the only thing on my mind was a glass of wine..a hot bubble and sleep..when I turned on the answering machine to hear..1.Mom I found you the perfect guy hes awesome.. 2.Mom he really want to meet you..3.Mom dont look at his car is real beat up and ugly but hes fine..4.oh by the way Mom he is coming over your place around midnight to take you out for drinks, I gave him your number so he could call you when he gets to your place...uh huh.. im crying, calling getting more and more mad at them when he calls saying hes downstairs and asks if im ready..when I try to tell him im not in the mood to meet anyone my phone starts beeping and my sweet girls are laughing and say April fools Mom..gotcha..now back to the story..Well the kids are bathed feed and sleeping, so now its our turn to ride, I thought it would be nice sitting snuggled in between both my daughters..no..im the smallest so I end up on the back with Jenn in the middle and Steph driving..doing her best impression of a tour guide pointing this house and the road..hitting as many mud puddles she could all the time saying oops sorry Mom..then I noticed Jenn putting her head down on Stephanies back and trying to hold back from laughing when out of the corner of my eye I see the biggest dog I have ever seen coming right for my butt..with teeth showing I didnt care what time it was I started screaming go Stephanie GOOOO hes gonna get me..as I tried scooting as close to Jennifer that I could get wrapping my legs all the way around Stephanie and her in her tour guide voice saying the first thing to remember is DONT strangle the driver ..and that dog kept coming as I kept screaming when Stephanie punched the gas and off we went...as we drug my ashamed embarrassed self back to the men folk..they had told us NOT to go to far..I hung my head as my soninlaw asked how far we went..I said umm not to far he said hmm thats strange seems like I heard you screaming HELP from a pretty far away distance..as I looked up he said...well short stuff how was the ride Your daughters have been planing that one for awhile now and as I seen both of them laughing I cant help but join them...yup they got me again but I aways say their days coming and its gonna be a good one Dont ya just love kids..no matter their age
