Listen, it will take a miracle for McCain to win this election.
The Democrats should have been 30 points ahead from the start. You got an unpopular war, an unpopular president, and an economy that, after years of boom, is finally turning to the down side of the business cycle.
It is already a miracle that McCain even has any chance at all. It tells you a lot about how bad the Democrat's candidates and platform are.
But the funny thing about this economic turmoil is this.
McCain is being pinned with the fault, as if it is his. But neither McCain nor Obama have much to do with it at all. As absurd as it may be, I suppose McCain will be accused simply because he shares the same party with President Bush.
But wait a minute. Even if McCain is blamed because of President Bush somehow (which is ridiculous to begin with), who says it is President Bush's fault?
Is there not a Congress? Is not the Congress in control of Democrats? Isn't it Congress that has the primary oversight of things economic? Yes, President Bush bears some blame, but doesn't Congress bear at least equal blame?
Chris Dodd (a Democrat) is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking and Barney Frank (a Democrat) is Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. And the Congress is controlled by DEMOCRATS. These are the most important economic oversight entities in all of government. It is Congress that makes the laws, not the President.
Where the hell was Congress all this time? Why didn't Dodd and Frank do something about this a long time ago? If there is anyone who bears primary responsibility, it is them.
Well ... it appears as if their hands are not so clean. There are rumors that Dodd got financial favors from the organizations he was supposed to be watching over and that Frank had a homosexual relationship with someone at one of those organizations. We shall see.
But the point is that even though McCain will undoubtedly be pummeled by the Obama spin machine for the current economic problems, he bears little responsibility for it.
Keep this in mind...
At this same time before the election 8 years ago, Gore led Bush by 11 points in the polls and then lost. In 1988, Dukakis led George H.W. Bush by 17 points in the polls and then lost.
The polls are mostly controlled by the liberal media who are a propaganda department for the Democrats. They cannot be trusted.
If you believe in keeping what you earn, and that you are a better judge of how to spend what you earn than the government, and not having the government confiscate the fruits of your hard work to fritter away to waste and corruption, then you should vote for McCain. He isn't perfect, but he is a damn sight better than Obama, who is a Marxist.
