His story "Without Benefit Of Clergy" is one of the most touching accounts of loss, love and compassion I have read.
Kipling once went to visit my other favorite author, Mark Twaain, But Twain was out. Kipling spent what he called "one of the most delightful afternoons of my life" talking to Twain's 16 year old dauthter Suzy, leaving only when twilight demanded his exit under the etiquette of the times.
We often refer to the little dog on my lap as "little friend of all the world", Kim's nickname from Kipling's book.

aww Kipling, one of the best writer and poets of all times. With me, he ranks up there with James Whitcomb Riley. Love them both.

When I was in Cubs ...just a few years ago.. I became familiar with the Jungle Book and one of my most favorite authors of all time is Somerset Maughan...when I read his work it was like he was in the same room with me...freaky huh... ...Kipling certainly stirred my imagination as a cub...
