~~~~~~ * ~~~~~~ * ~~~~~~ The Bible says that we should spread the Gospel and win people to Christ. The Bible says also that we should serve and care for the helpless. The Bible says that speaking in tongues is a sign of the Holy Spirit.
It appears to me that a lot of “preachers” try really hard converting those "poor mindless heathens”, but forget to teach the Gospel. They seem to count their own worth by the number of “conversions”… and assuredly believe that each extra person “turned over to Christ” will probably give them some extra privileges in heaven.
In Sunday schools, small children are basically forced to “speak in tongues” , whereas most Christian people whom I know have no definite idea of what “speaking in tongues” actually means, except that they think their salvation depends on it. Therefore, hordes of “good Christians” express themselves in the weirdest and strangest sounds , believing that they are one step ahead of the others in the competition for a good place in heaven.
And finally the helpers, the Good Samaritans…. especially those whose “helping” is a way of making a living. They humble themselves and generally make sure this is seen and heard. They raise funds to feed the poor and not only keep score, but actually receive a nice percentage of the raised money. They are kind and forgiving around the needy (and in front of cameras….), but talk harshly to their employees and family members. They think they score high with God, behaving like perfectly tyrannical dictators and forgetting altogether to be humble and kind in their heart.
The Business of “Heaven” is flourishing…. Competition is keen… and scores are marked…
I just wonder what GOD would say about it….
