Is Blogland in a recession? Are original words becoming scarce or are the heavyweight bloggers refusing to spend them? Is there an increase in word supply? Is there a decrease in demand? Is the increase in supply (W1) causing the original written word to lose value? Have we gotten off the gold standard?

Surely Bloglanders have experienced recessions before, and we've always been able to pull through. Some of us have left during tough times to seek opportunity elsewhere but a lot, if not most, of us have come back. And I believe that is because, regardless of the current state of affairs, we all have one thing in common: we want to be read and find that there is a very high standard of reading here. We have a stake in this.

It is time for writers of original words to start spending. We must stimulate Blogland with words - big words. Otherwise we acquiesce (how's that one?) in the ruin of our own land. If unoriginal posts are outnumbering original posts, then it is the writers of original words who are ultimately culpable (see, there's another).

I intend to do my part. I had made a decision last week that I would stop writing blog posts and dedicate my life to writing only bulletins. However, I will put off those plans and do my part to spend right here in Blogland until this recession is over (and yes, I only got one email from the bulletins).

Join me, and together we can make a difference. I'm certain Blogland's best days are yet to come.

Then what?

If one can construct a sentence that has both a subject and a predicate then one can surely write at least as well as I. I reckon these posts to be a lot like breast:the real ones of any size or shape are always superior to the perfect fake ones . . . . .

Well I must say I've come back to read others again. I missed it more than I thought I would. Before leaving I deleted all but my last one and now maybe I'll start over. I do wish a certain couple would write here again. Those were the days.........

there is a very high standard of reading here

Yeah, but in order to preserve my dignity and avoid writing whiny acrimonious blogs, I am investing only a few words into blogland: I can afford little risk: a comment here and there, a smart-ass retort, an email or two... all intended to yield safe return on my investment. (Yes, that email re: Rog's bulletins was mine...)

I'm hanging on to my every word.

I can't help it. I'm in a reactionary mode and until someone buys some freakin' art, I need to maintain my code of conduct and rest on your laurels. No perfidy here. (Like that one?)

And so - until the WPA program is re-instituted, I shall remain an ascetic troll.

You must be popular if you got an email from a bulletin. I've written 72 bulletins and I've never got one email from there. If you delete all your friends, you too can do this.

I did a copy and paste once, it was about as much pleasure as watching a nodding dog.

Have you ever seen a nodding dog nod?

It's about as exciting as a copy and paste.

And while we are all acquiesencing what about the culpability?

I try to contribute on occasion...but words do not flow well for me.

I have to tell you, though, that you & Patrice kept me busy here on this one!

Keep up the good work, Rog.~*~

Oh & btw....I'd reply to your bulletins, but I don't get them

I too tire of the redundancy and sophistry found in this site's blogs, still I capitulate, logging on daily hoping for innovative and stimulating prose.

Then there's you....
