Well gee. Isn't that news?
My experience has been that cats are a tad too independent for guys. They really only let you hang around, though they do have a good sense ( just like a dog) that recognizes a good person. For the most part, I've found, cats are pickier than dogs when it comes to liking anyone. lol
In all honesty, I have to admit, I didn't read the article, it was the headline that started it all.
