The Rain, The Wind and The Sun

It was mid June that time of year when flowers are a bloom, the grass is green and there is a fragrance in the air.

Ever have one of those perfect days when all was bright and the temperature is right…Well there we were. my close friend and I up at the camp, The North Woods where the many tones of green, of the trees, bushes and shrubs were as brilliant as nature had intended, the birds were singing. The lake was a glimmering sheet of water. The Sea Gulls were gliding and diving for a fish or a bug or whatever their telescoping eyes could see.

We decide to go for a walk, to explore the wonders that nature had provided…Hand in hand we walked, we talked of things we saw… I looked at her and saw the sparkle and gleam in her eye…We saw in the distance a neighbor, he smiled and waved … There in the sky an Eagle soared his flight of grace and elegance as he dived and swooped riding the wind currents in that wonderful blue sky… “Oh look “ I said a deer and her fawn, so cute, The fawns long legs still awkward and long but still trailing along…

As we walked further and deeper the woods seemed cooler and taller. She pulled me close and gave me a kiss… A kiss on the cheek, that said this is grand…A slight wind came over a hill blowing her hair and making me grin…A cloud now appeared in the sky that was darkening, the Sun was behind it… Could it be rain… First just a sprinkle, that spattered on down, just a dribble of water, and then came more… She looked up at me and smiled that big smile… A smile that said come on lets play, we are going to get wet anyway…The rain was gentle and so was our fun, we ran and walked as the rain came down… Her hair was wet and glistened and dripped I could feel the beads roll off my uncovered head…We danced and we sang, thank God no one heard…

As quick as it started, it stopped… A slight warm breeze blew by…. The sun came back up, the birds kept up their tunes….Gosh it was a wonderful day…We started to dry as we walked on our way… Even now a newness was amiss…

I said I’m hungry lets go back to camp, we stopped and we kissed…What a nice walk we had, had…

Yes it was a fun and happy time, a time we prayed for to have more and more….
