Despite what the bias media tells you or the Barack Obama supporters who are to eager to destroy Sarah Palin, she was actually cleared in the findings. I have actually read the report and it clears her. If someone can tell me how to link Adobe Reader, I will be glad to post the link to this blog. I just wanted to truth to come out.

Here is finding #2 of the Sarah Palin investigation;

I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commisioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor's Palin firing of Commissioner Monegan was a PROPER AND LAWFUL EXERCISE OF HER constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

In other words, she did nothing wrong. People might want to actually read the report before they make blogs or claims that Sarah Palin was found guilty. This is what happens when you have a bias media and eager Barack Obama supporters wanting to pounce on Sarah Palin.

There might be a couple of embarrassed bloggers after they read the report.

That is because they have not read the report and are just listening to the media. Read the report or read the findings that I copied verbatim in this blog. The truth is there.

defender, let us remember that many of the moonbat liberals here are uninformed, borderline illiterate and star struck over the Messiah.

If one cannot write a sentence how can we expect them to understand a sentence?

Yet Barry Obama is funding ACORN, a criminal enterprise and the whack jobs just whistle.

I haven't read it yet or saw the news, but as you can see in my comment I stood up for her as I couldn't see how they could get away with abuse to that child, and no adult here stood up for the child. I find that horrible that no one here defended that poor innocent child, what's wrong with you ppl, so set on Obama that you neglect your duty as a citizen to stand up for what is right? Brainwashing is what I say. tc Lost

Thank you Defendersof...Every time I see this kind of stuff I get a headache - because I prefer to read the facts and the reports and make educated decisions. Thanks so much for posting the decision.... Whether or not the others will be embarrassed or not doesn't make any difference to me....I prefer to hope that they have learned to do the proper research before cutting and pasting what they read.

It reminds me of when I used to forward all those emails I received...and then I discovered SNOPES...Now I look up everything I receive and if I don't find reliable answers, I don't forward....It's as simple as that.

I hope my headache doesn't have to last until Voting Day. I just remembered, here in Florida we Seniors are allowed early voting privileges....(that is, if the machines are working correctly).???

Sincerely,
KK

Does the anal cavity think it is more powerful than the brain (sorry, I digress to an old joke.that went this way...) oh yeah...this is not about that...what the hell is it about youngsters...shall you all be sent to detention for disrupting the peace and tranquility of the class

I think you people need to re-read the report. She is in violation of allowing her office to be used by her husband to settle family problems by her husband. This is a viloation of the state code.

There you go, relying on the bias media rather then read the report for yourself. I reported the findings in this blog. However, if you don't want to believe me then you can read the report yourself. You will notice that my blog and the actual report will have the same findings. I am beginning to think that some people don't want to know the truth, they just want to hear things that help their cause.

She was guilty of ueing her position to apply pressure to fire monehan. That is the ethics play that is coming up with the report. Supposedly, she broke a code of ethics with the Alaskan govt.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if anything becomes of it.

you took the time to read an almost 300 page report? but only present the pieces that help your point of view. interesting. the following article says she technically did nothing wrong, but did violate the ethics law--- by using her office for personal gain. her lawyer argues that since she made no money from it, it was not a ethics violation. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm throughout articles about her leadership role in alaska, mention is always made of her husband sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. he is only a husband, without any official capacity to act on behalf of the state of alaska. technically she may not have violated the law---- if we stretch the technically part.

Alaska panel finds Palin abused power in firing By MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writer
20 minutes ago

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday. The politically charged inquiry imperiled her reputation as a reformer on John McCain's Republican ticket.

Investigator Stephen Branchflower, in a report by a bipartisan panel that investigated the matter, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.

The inquiry looked into her dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, who said he lost his job because he resisted pressure to fire a state trooper involved in a bitter divorce with the governor's sister. Palin says Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.

The report found that Palin let the family grudge influence her decision-making even if it was not the sole reason Monegan was dismissed. "I feel vindicated," Monegan said. "It sounds like they've validated my belief and opinions. And that tells me I'm not totally out in left field."

Branchflower said Palin violated a statute of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.

"I disagree," said Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein. "In order to violate the ethics law, there has to be some personal gain, usually financial. Mr. Branchflower has failed to identify any financial gain."

The statute says "any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that (public) trust."

Palin and McCain's supporters had hoped the inquiry's finding would be delayed until after the presidential election to spare her any embarrassment and to put aside an enduring distraction as she campaigns as McCain's running mate in an uphill contest against Democrat Barack Obama.

But the panel of lawmakers voted to release the report, although not without dissension. There was no immediate vote on whether to endorse its findings.

"I think there are some problems in this report," said Republican state Sen. Gary Stevens, a member of the panel. "I would encourage people to be very cautious, to look at this with a jaundiced eye."

The nearly 300-page report does not recommend sanctions or a criminal investigation.

The investigation revealed that Palin's husband, Todd, has extraordinary access to the governor's office and her closest advisers. He used that access to try to get trooper Mike Wooten fired, the report found.

Branchflower faulted Sarah Palin for taking no action to stop that. He also noted there is evidence the governor herself participated in the effort.

Wooten had been in hot water before Palin became governor over allegations that he illegally shot a moose, drank beer in a patrol car and used a Taser on his stepson.

In proceedings revealed by the report, former Alaska State Trooper Col. Julia Grimes told investigators that Sarah Palin called her in late 2005 to discuss why Wooten hadn't been fired, and Grimes told her the inquiry was confidential by law.

"Her questions were how can a trooper who behaves this way still be working," Grimes said. "I asked her to please trust me, that because I can't tell her details I would ask her to please trust me that I would take the appropriate action if and when I knew what the findings were. ... I couldn't have another conversation with her about it because, again, it's protected by law."

Grimes said Todd Palin also contacted her by telephone in late 2005 to discuss the confidential investigation of Wooten.

Wooten's disciplinary case was settled in September 2006 β€” months before Palin was elected governor β€” and he was allowed to continue working as a trooper.

After Palin's election, her new public safety commissioner, Monegan, said he was summoned to the governor's office to meet Todd Palin, who said Wooten's punishment had been merely a "slap on the wrist." Monegan said he understood the Palins wanted Wooten fired. "I had this kind of ominous feeling that I may not be long for this job if I didn't somehow respond accordingly," Monegan told the investigator.

For months afterward, Todd Palin filed complaints about Wooten, saying he was seen riding a snowmobile after he had filed a worker's compensation claim and was seen dropping off his children at school in his patrol car. Monegan said Wooten's doctor had authorized the snowmobile trip and his supervisor had approved his use of the patrol car. Monegan said Alaska's attorney general later called him to inquire about Wooten, and Monegan told him they shouldn't be discussing the subject.

"This was an issue that apparently wasn't going to go away, that there were certainly frustrations," Monegan said. "To say that (Sarah Palin) was focused on this I think would be accurate."

ohtayicu - I actually presented the findings on whether she abused her position or not. And clearly from reading this finding #2 of the actual report, it says she did not. You on the other hand rely on the bias media for your information because they tell you things you want to hear, not the truth. I wonder why it is that you chose to submit an AP article as your proof rather then the actual report? Seems suspicious to me or at the very least slanted.

Guess what ladies...

The nearly 300-page report does not recommend sanctions or a criminal investigation.

The VERY biased Democrat Investigator that led this witch hunt only wanted to make a stink.

I'm not sure why you chose to jump to Finding Two, and make the conclusion she was cleared of the abuse charge, when this is Finding One...

Findings Number One

For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) provides

β€œThe legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.”

Doesn't Finding One say that she was found to have abused her office???

One can abuse the office and still have a PROPER AND LAWFUL EXERCISE OF HER constitutional and statuatory authority.

The findings are on page 8, their explanation begins on page 52, a lot of legal definitions and explanation of how Alaskan code applies to what she and her husband did. I'm not going to make some strange claim that I 'read the report' but I did read until I was bored to death by the legalese, the applicable sections on the findings.

For me personally, this is really not that big a thing. Big deal...a politico fires one of their employees because of family matters. In the scope of things, though an abuse of position and power, it's pretty minor.

Now, if she had slept with Marilyn Manson, and been caught in a love triangle, then I would think, relative to her religious persuasions, that was a little too much...

Again, isn't this simply reading for what one is looking for, and not incorporating ALL THE DATA?

Doesn't Finding One say that she was found to have abused her office???

Observed - Still claiming your an independent? HAHA. You more then anyone else always try to contradict my blogs and stick up for democrats. Actually not just mine, but all anti democrat blogs.

Look, any accusation this guy makes in the report in finding #1 is superceded by finding #2.
Governor's Palin firing of Commissioner Monegan was a PROPER AND LAWFUL EXERCISE OF HER constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
Now if they found that she did nothing wrong like claimed in finding #2, How can finding #1 be taken when they said she used her office for personal interests? Finding #2 clearly states that Walt Monegan's not firing the trooper was not the sole reason for his firing. Heck, they are not even sure that was reason at all, they only said it was likely but didn't prove it. So even if she did fire him for personal interest on that issue, they said she had other good reasons to fire him. That means the guy has to go. But if they can't prove that part of the reason she fired him was for not firing the trooper and infact said she had every right to fire him, how can they say she abused her powers for personal interest?

This was a dog and pony show with the sole purpose of hurting Sarah Palin. Why else did the findings come out so fast, investigations take more time then this. They only interviewed the witnesses late last week. Not to mention that the person heading up the investigation is a known Barack Obama supporter seen at some of his campaign rallies and in pictures with him, and stating that he will come up with an October surprise. This was a joke from the start. The trooper should have been fired for tazing a 10 year old boy, something the trooper admits to doing. And if a public safety commissioner keeps someone like that on the force, doesn't that mean the public safety office is more out to protect his cops rather then doing what is right for the public? Lets say that this trooper wasn't married to the Governors sister, do you think she would still want this trooper fired for tazing a 10 year old boy? I find it amazing that this is even an issue. But in the world of politics, politicians will play politics any chance they can.

The link above is from Palin's home town newspaper.

In reading the article I had to wonder which moose-killer is running the state of Alaska ?

Is Sarah the Governor or does her husband Todd think he IS the Governor ?

You be the judge.
