Obama Leads McCain in Newspaper Endorsements Washington Post -- Oct. 18,2008

By Shailagh Murray ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Sen. Barack Obama has opened up a massive lead over Sen. John McCain in newspaper endorsements.
According to the Democratic Web site DemConWatch, Obama has secured support from 55 editorial boards, including from 10 newspapers that backed President Bush in 2004. One big coup: the Chicago Tribune, which has never endorsed a Democrat for president.
Obama's hometown paper compared him to Abraham Lincoln and reassured voters around the country that his promise was real.
"Many Americans say they're uneasy about Obama. He's pretty new to them," the Tribune wrote. "We can provide some assurance. We have known Obama since he entered politics a dozen years ago. We have watched him, worked with him, argued with him as he rose from an effective state senator to an inspiring U.S. senator to the Democratic Party's nominee for president."
Newspaper endorsements are of uncertain value, but they can be an interesting measure of public support in various regions, or from groups within those regions. McCain's count as of Friday, according to DemConWatch, was 14 endorsements, including from the New York Post and the Boston Herald, the only two in his column that rank in the top 100 in circulation.
The pro-McCain papers were enthusiastic, too. "McCain has been in Washington for many years now, but he is not of Washington," wrote the New York Post. "He knows where the levers of power are located -- and how to manipulate them -- but he is not controlled by them. McCain's selection of the charming, but rock-solid, outsider Sarah Palin as his running mate underscores the point."

"Many Americans say they're uneasy about Obama. He's pretty new to them
Well the same can be said about McCain. You only know the information that is written in the news paper or what the commentators say. They know how to smear or make a gainster look good.
Lets face it, If people are having problems accepting Obama, then they need to express them self. If your problem is the lies as spreaded by Fox and CNN on his religion that he is a Muslium, then you need to ask your self what religion is McCain and is he religious. Joe the plumber was the biggest joke going. This really test the intergety and the knowledge of the American people. Here a 2 man company maakes over 250,000 per year. The owner has a license, but the helper--who claims he is a plumber, does not have a licesnse, been properly trained, has not attended an apprenticeship or any type school is worried about taxes on money above 250K.
=Just who do they thing the American people are??? This was a set up from day one. This is a slap in the face of the every day guy and to the guy who is doing the planning to establish a small business.
