Welcome to day six of my latest voyage on the high seas. You join me some 10 hours due east of Hull and Grimsby as we sit here for the 15th hour waiting for the weather to come down.
We are here on a government survey to look at the state of the seabed in this area, to see how the agregate industry is depleting the seabed, and among other things look for evidence of ancient life here in the north Sea before it was flooded and was a land bridge to Europe. No oil to look for at all.
Thankfully, there are some old friends on board, and some new ones, and the atmosphere is really very good. I am on a new ship to the fleet, and it is pants. It rolls around in the water like a whales, and is most uncomfortable. But there you go, nothing we can do about that, just get on with it.
So, we are working, at times, and counting the days down until I get to go home for Christmas, maybe.
In other news, so so-called-friend, James, is moving out of my house on Tuesday, and once the locks are changed it can be put onto the market once again. For whats thats worth; I have no confidence it will sell, not unless I reduce the price to somethibng that is a joke. The next task for Jools is to go up and see what James has left behind, and in what state the house is in. If it fails to sell, we may even move up there next spring. We do have choices at least.
I see some bloggers are concerned with whether Obama is a muslim or not; quite why that matters is another thing. One thing for sure it will all be over in a few weeks anyway and then they can blog about something else, if they can.
Just enough time to thank all of you who sent in good wishes and congratulations to Jools and I on our recent marriage; thank you from us both. We know we are very lucky. I will try to post some more pictures upon my return home in seven or so weeks; that sounds such a long time away.
Take care y'all.
