After talking for a while about how the Republican Party has let him down as a person and the direction they have taken..today at 9:13 am (ETS) Gen. Powell on Meet The Press says Barack Obama will get his vote. But he made it clear that he will not campaign for him and he is not voting for him because he is black!...

Way to go General!

Perhaps... but an endorsement from Colin Powell is significant enough to decide an election. His response was logical and not emotional.

The entire world is watching and waiting to see what America is doing...

Having chatted with people from other countries, it would appear they think Obama has far more insight to BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER, especially in the Middle East.

One person I talked to thinks McCain's diplomacy will be like swinging a stick around some hornets nests. I tend to think that's a pretty accurate analogy.

Did you expect anything less after the Republican party basically forced him out of politics?

BTW, wasn't this the same guy that claimed the Iraqi's had WMD's?

Suddenly, the Liberals are having a circle-jerk over the man and falling down in love with anything he says

Imagine that...

I will admit that I am personally not comfortable with either candidate. They've both brought forth issues that I respect their answers (promises) on, and also some that I disagree with. But then.......actions speak louder than words. I will be voting. We can only pray that the 'lesser of the two evils' wins.

Being a pro-McCain supporter from the beginning, I have found my self pulling further and further back and really LISTENING to both candidates...not to others opinions.

I have been an admirer of Colin Powell, also...and looked forward to his announcement.

His issues and reasons for endorsing Obama, though a VERY close friend of McCain's....was succinct, unbiased, and to the point.

I found myself nodding more than shaking my head...it was prob the deciding factor for me...and I did not make this decision lightly.

Though there are pro's and con's on both sides of the ticket, I PERSONALLY feel the interests of the nation will be better served by Obama.

That is what Colin Powell hoped to achieve. I tink he has switched sides......more for his own benefit than anything.. Sure he made sense.......but other things that werent mentioned make sense also. We have to look behind what is being said.........and search the core of our own hearts.

I've always respected Colin Powell as a leader & I agree that it is very telling that he came out to publicly make this announcement.
