I'm sure most of you are tired of political commentary and wish the elections were over with, but for many of us a very important aspect is missing in this most critical of social processes. When selecting a candidate that will preside over the most powerful nation in the world, one should carefully weigh all factors in order to make an informed decision. Considerations such as character, experience, and true patriotism have somehow become meaningless qualities when evaluating a candidate for his competency as a president in this current election. Instead people have made knowingly immoral and irresponsible choices when choosing Barrack Obama, a man who stands for abortion, lawfully altering the traditional concept of marriage, involving himself with people who have demonstrated outright hatred for the US and what it stands for, and concealing the truth about himself. The beauty of our system is that we tolerate the presence of these types on our very soil. That particular freedom could be the very undoing of this great nation however. Elsewhere in the world such people would be exiled or much worse.

Unfortunately for many it has boiled down to blaming John McCain for the what the past administration has done making him guilty by association.Others have chosen the race card thinking because they are black or some other minority that somehow their best interests will be better served. This is what America has degenerated into, a place where everyone is asking what this country can do for them and not what they can do for this country.

Special interests can indeed be subversive in impact when realistically speaking a majority must be represented in order to effectively rule. There are so many international immigrants within our borders imposing their personal preferences and religious convictions that it has made a huge impression on our buying habits. The trade deficit is clearly evident when you see the negative impact being felt by the US auto industry among others. However we boast a free society that embraces the freedom of other cultures to worship and practice their own traditions. This is fine as long as they realize they are now Americans and everyone is here for the common good of a nation not the place that that they willingly left behind in order to get a fresh start here. Unfortunately upon arriving here they may not leave their anti American sentiments or terroristic sympathies back home from where they came.Once again they are protected by our liberal laws

In the words of Stanton Friedman, a distinguished physicist who has participated in numerous defense department projects involving national security, "my mind is made up don't bother me with the facts." When expressing the skepticism toward the existence of UFO's which he has made a case for for the last forty years. The same stigma applies to those who choose to impetuously support Barrack Obama for president as they too have made up their mind without bothering to explore the evidence surrounding this deceptive political figure and his hidden agendas.

I was accused of fear mongering by a member due to the fact that I simply depicted the current global political situation as it is, and the fact that we need an experienced president to deal with those potentially dangerous eventualities. If appraising the existing world geopolitical configuration sounds like fear mongering than maybe there is truly a need for a man that can meet those challenges instead of a magician who promises a magical solution to our economic woes that probably does not exist.Socialistic doctrines do not address the true fiber of American values nor the principles of our Constitution. I'm afraid that those wise forefathers who had formulated laws to protect the masses from oppression and taxation without representation would look upon our nation now with shear dismay!

If you are in favor of "spreading the wealth" reverse discrimination programs such as Affirmative Action, and organizations that threaten lenders to make bad loans to minorities such as ACORN as well as promoting voter fraud than vote Obama he will embrace you and take you over the brink along with him.

Also remember that the Bush administration was faced with a severe anomaly to deal with and that was 9/11. If action had not been taken to hit back, whether you support Bush's strategic choices or not, we most certainly would have been devastated again and again and lost face with the rest of the world including our enemies. I can tell you right now that Australians, Chinese, Taiwanese, and many other nationalities sit nervously glued to their television sets watching the outcome of this election as the media continually slanders and misrepresents John McCain. Many of them wonder just what in the heck is going on in this nation that so many can be deceived at once without being able to see the obvious truth.

I'm afraid that we are witnessing the eve of destruction and no one could care less because everyone has become fixated upon what self serving motives of their own the government is supposed to remedy for them instead of they themselves relying on their own initiative. Big government is oppressive, inefficient, and costly. The more big government you have in your life the more freedom you surrender. With nationalization of US banks, are we not already on the brink of communism? History already gives us a glimpse into where we are headed and it is not an enviable position to be in.Carefully investigate the voting records of both candidates, evaluate the experiences of both men that have made them what they are today, and remember that John McCain is a distinguished war veteran who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. Can you make that claim for Barrack Obama? No.You are the shepherds of the future of this nation. Choose responsibly you will have to live with your choice!

I have noticed that anything with controversy Obama side steps. He did it again about Biden's recent mess up. He side stepped the bailout by not appearing nor telling anyone how he felt about it. He side steps his promise to not use private funding and basically lieing about his intentions. He side steps his associations. He stays off all these important subjects because he knows they matter and he's hoping they will just go away. Now there is proven fraud with Acorn, both within their employees and their own tax practices. You hear McCain saying this needs to be cleaned up, but never Obama. Why because Acorn, legal or not will get him elected. This type of running anything is how he's going to run the country. Now we know something is going to happen within six months, to whom? Us, Americans? Are some of us going to die? Only Obama and Biden knows, more sneaky politics and he doesn't care. Yes, think when voting, your decision could save lives or cost American's their lives. We've been forewarned by his own VP choice, how much clearer can they be? tc Lost

I don't blaming McCain for what the past administration has done, except insofar as he's 98% in agreement wit its policies. Unless he's lying, his will effectively be the third term of Bush, only without Dick Cheney (read that as positive or negative, as you will).

Big governement sucks. So does the big business that is completely in bed with it. The the notion that the two are at odds is one of the greatest shams ever perpetuated -- each gets its own force of peons to fight for in the parking lot it while they're inside sharing martinis.

And I really don't have to choose wisely. Oh, I will vote, and my vote will enter the tide of the New York electoral system, which, I'm 88% certain, will go to Obama. If it does somehow go to McCain, I highly doubt that it will be anywhere near a small enough margin for my vote to turn. Maybe if my state split its electoral votes I'd feel differently, but it doesn't.

So, if I'm a shepherd, I'm one who's competing with the crookstaves of million others -- over two sheep.

eve of destruction

It's inevitable.

With so many people misguided and divided, they choose "free money" over liberty.

Islam has played the game well.

Outstanding blog sir, very well done. You have made some outstanding points. However, as far as this election is concerned it's all over but the cryin. Obama has run a very good campaign, and experience or not he will be our next President. Personally, I am going to try my best to have a positive outlook. I do like Obama's plan for healthcare, in my opinion it's fundamentally wrong that 47 million Americans can't go to the doctor when they are sick. However, beyond that I don't agree with much of anything that the Democrats support.

Honestly, I think that Obama will do a good job. He will be the first black President, and I don't think he wants to go down in history as the President that took America down the tubes. I just hope when the Democrats take the White House they keep their gun grabbing paws off of my constitutional rights.Yes, I think the country is going to experience some major changes, and like many others I am worried. However, we need a change of direction, and hopefully America will end up a better place.

I didn't vote for Bush either time, and I am proud of it.

On the other hand, Barr, Obama and McCain are entirely different folks. Would be proud to have any and all of them as neighbors. Especially, since it means that I would be able to afford a much nicer neighborhood!

Bob Barr's law office is in our town. I know he doesn't have much of a chance at being elected President, but the other two candidates should pay close attention to what Bob is saying about the need to preserve our civil liberties, while we are addressing the economic catastrophe in 2009. Barr is also justifiably p-o ed that all Federal assistance is going to the very people, who created the mess, rather than helping out the middle class and small businesses, who are supposed to be the backbone of our country.

Excellent blog! I agree whole heartedly. As an English woman emmigrating in to America, I have had the chance to view the politics with unbias.

I have watched all the debates, and watched the campaign advertisments.

Obama sounds like the great choice doesnt he, but he is holding back on telling everything about his plans for when he is president. He also is an unknown, no-one seems to know anything about him, apart from the obvious facts, like his father was or is an Egyptian Muslim, and hes a senator. Apart from that we dont know much else, we do know that if you have children, he will fine you if you dont have them medically insured, but he hasnt said how much has he!!.. no.. he'll wait for that little cutie to jump out and bite.
he also promises a lot of money for people, but where will that money come from? America is already in debt, so obviously it will come from taxes, taxing the businesses, Fining the businesses for not medically insuring their employees
who wont be able to afford it, will make people jobless, so even less tax now will be paid in to the system. But people wont realise that when they vote, they will vote because of what they think they will get out of it and nothing else.

And in 1 year they will regret it.

Shame.

It is a true disappointment to listen to certain media outlets attempting to mislead and slander the names of the Palin's in the immature unfair way it was done ... I wish this treatment on no one

the worst part is that the same type of treatment is not done to the man who would not qualify for a job with the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, NSA, you get the point .... does anyone actually think that if some republican candidate had all this baggage they would not be scrutinized to the point of devistation? the answer is obvious

I will go one step further - you can NOT be a Christian and vote for obama ... there is NO argument ... he believes and has voted for things that are opposite of Biblical values

thanks for the blog - well stated
