And so, the life at sea.
Or rather the life in port. We arrived here on Sunday evening, and due to poor weather out at the survey site we are going to be here tied up along side until next Sunday.
And, of course, we still get paid.
It's a hard life, to be sure.
Yesterday I walked into town, found the library and surfed the net a while. We can't sign into our e mail accounts on board. And then bought some magazines and a book and sat in a bar nursing a couple of pints waiting tfor the evening game to start. I also treated myself to scampi and chips; why not, it had been a hard day at work.
I do now appear to be the ship's photographer, each day brings a new assignment, and today it's the communal areas of the ship. It pays the bills; should I be charging? I think I may give the company this for free.
It's another glorious, if windy day out there, a bright and sunny morning, and I may indeed end up doing much the same thing as yesterday. So, another lazy walk into town, buy something to read and sit in a bar.
And this is work.
Why ever do I complain?
Hope your day at the coalface goes this well.
