Years ago one of my younger cousins was staying with us while her parents were out of town. My mom didn't have the best verbal impulse control at that time and while she was cooking breakfast she said the statement g** d***it to h***.  Well, my cousin who was just learning to talk said the exact same words just as clear as a bell . Mom was horrified and when her sister came that night to pick my cousin up mom said, "Well I taught your daughter her first sentence. 
I always remember "Little Pitchers have BIG ears".....

Yup - I laugh as I think of what I had to write in my son's baby book about his first sentence...
"Let go of my beads, damn it." His dad was playing with him with his Lionel Trains and had stuck some pop-it beads in a box car, but was holding them from the back while my son tried to remove them. He did NOT pick up those words from me...but, I'm sure I know where he did.
Make sure you jot it down somewhere for memoirs...we tend to forget these things and they are worth a million in the future.

TY, everyone...and yes..a discussion time...without their parents around, is great...let them talk about anything on their minds, without fear of reprocussions...
And I think I will start video tapin them...it can get soooo funny sometimes!
