Hello to all out there in MD-Land. I hope this finds you enjoying your weekend with family, friends, or individual interests. It's a brisk, but sunny afternoon here.. a reminder that Winter is not far off @ all. Tomorrow will be a sure reminder as winds gust to 50 MPH & temps fall through the 40's throughout the day. Tomorrow night will be our coldest night so far, with an expected low of around 28. Makes me wonder if this is going to be "one of those Winters".
This afternoon, was the visitation for our former landlord. Those of you that have known me long enough & have followed my blogs know that I used to rent a house in the country with my roommate Mike & former roommate, Bill. Bill's second cousin was our landlord. She was a strict, but sweet lady when it came to the house & her & her husband were very good about keeping things up to par. Aside of her casket was a letter she had wrote to her family while in the hospital on Oct. 18th (her b-day), 5 days before she passed on. In it were words that encouraged others to forgive as Christ did, & that although most of us will see a good long life, that nothing should wait until tomorrow, because tomorrow may never get here. Those words put a lump in my throat.. not only for the wrongs I've done in the past, but also as a reminder that I am very glad I am a "lover & not a fighter", & am quick to forgive those that have wronged me. The only thing I'm sad about are those that I have lost contact with for whatever reason. Although they may know where I stand on my feelings, I can only hope & pray that they share the same type of open-arm forgiveness.
With the election mere days away, I'm sure many of us will be so glad to be able to turn on TV, or the radio, or drive along a city street & not have to see something dealing with the election, or the mudslinging of the candidates. Although I am not Catholic, the roots of my denomination if traced back far enough lead to a branch off of the Catholic religion. I received an email, which although leaning towards the election, did not support one side or the other, but rather was of encouragement to pull together as a nation & be heard.. & to stand behind what we believe in & what makes this the country it is. So, in closing, I tip my hat to those Catholics that took the time to make this video. http://www.catholicvote.com/ *HUGS & FOOTRUBS* ladies.. *HANDSHAKES* guys..
