Yes, I am a substitute teacher. Again. I subbed for a year after I got my teaching credential in 1984 to see where I wanted to teach full time. It was fourth grade, a grade I taught for teh next 10 years.
Earlier this year, I obtained a job with the state of California. It turned out to be one of the worst jobs I've ever had due to management's lack of proper and continual training. I quit the job and set my goals of going back to the classroom to teach.
Since it has been a few years since I've taught, the best way to get back to fulltime teaching - for me, at least - was to become a subsitute teacher.
So I did!
I applied at several school districts and got on at three school districts. A few days ago, I stepped back into the classroom and knew I was back in my element, my passion.
This will be a great year!
