In the laws of Allah, a woman is worth half a man. Women are dirty, vile, evil creatures that must be kept hidden.
This is the third installment to a series devoted to women in Islam. The following are few examples demonstrating women's horrible status and treatment in Islam's own writings (Qur’an, Hadith & Sunna -- all three sources are required studies to become a Muslim, not just the Qur’an):
Muslim Men can Capture Infidel Women as Sex-slave Booty
Translations of the Qur'an, Chapter 4: AN-NISA (WOMEN) Total Verses: 176 Revealed At: MADINA 004.024 PICKTHAL: And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess. It is a decree of Allah for you. Lawful unto you are all beyond those mentioned, so that ye seek them with your wealth in honest wedlock, not debauchery. And those of whom ye seek content (by marrying them), give unto them their portions as a duty. And there is no sin for you in what ye do by mutual agreement after the duty (hath been done). Lo! Allah is ever Knower, Wise.
004.025 YUSUFALI: If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. **(“Whom your right hand possesses” = sex slave)**
Translations of the Qur'an, Chapter 23: AL-MUMENOON (THE BELIEVERS) Total Verses: 118 Revealed At: MAKKA 023.001 YUSUFALI: The believers must (eventually) win through,- 023.002 YUSUFALI: Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 023.003 YUSUFALI: Who avoid vain talk; 023.004 YUSUFALI: Who are active in deeds of charity; 023.005 YUSUFALI: Who abstain from sex, 023.006 YUSUFALI: Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame,
Translations of the Qur'an, Chapter 24: AL-NOOR (THE LIGHT) Total Verses: 64 Revealed At: MADINA 024.033 YUSUFALI: Let those who find not the wherewithal for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allah gives them means out of His grace. And if any of your slaves ask for a deed in writing (to enable them to earn their freedom for a certain sum), give them such a deed if ye know any good in them: yea, give them something yourselves out of the means which Allah has given to you. But force not your maids to prostitution when they desire chastity, in order that ye may make a gain in the goods of this life. But if anyone compels them, yet, after such compulsion, is Allah, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (to them), **(i.e.,“freedom-to-pimp”: “But if anyone forces them, then after such compulsion, Allah is oft-forgiving”)**
Translations of the Qur'an, Chapter 33: AL-AHZAB (THE CLANS, THE COALITION, THE COMBINED FORCES) Total Verses: 73 Revealed At: MADINA 033.052 YUSUFALI: It is not lawful for thee (to marry more) women after this, nor to change them for (other) wives, even though their beauty attract thee, except any thy right hand should possess (as handmaidens): and Allah doth watch over all things. Translations of the Qur'an, Chapter 70: AL-MAARIJ (THE ASCENDING STAIRWAYS) Total Verses: 44 Revealed At: MAKKA 070.029 YUSUFALI: And those who guard their chastity, 070.030 YUSUFALI: Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed,……… 070.035 YUSUFALI: Such will be the honoured ones in the Gardens (of Bliss).
Translation of Malik's Muwatta, Book 2: Purity Section: Ghusl for Major Ritual Impurity Book 2, Number 2.23.90: Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that the slave girls of Abdullah ibn Umar used to wash his feet and bring him a mat of palm leaves while they were menstruating.
Malik was asked whether a man who had women and slavegirls could have intercourse with all of them before he did ghusl. He said, "There is no harm in a man having intercourse with two of his slave girls before he does ghusl. It is disapproved of, however, to go to a freewoman on another's day. There is no harm in making love first to one slave girl and then to another when one is junub."
Malik was asked about a man who was junub and water was put down for him to do ghusl with. Then he forgot and put his finger into it to find out whether it was hot or cold. Malik said, "If no filth has soiled his fingers, I do not consider that that makes the water impure."

Translation of Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11: Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah) Book 11, Number 2150 Abu Said al-Khudri said: "The apostle of Allah sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of the apostle of Allah were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives in the presence of their husbands who were unbelievers. So Allah, the Exalted, sent down the Qur'anic verse, "And all married women (are forbidden) unto your save those (captives) whom your right hand possesses". [see Qur'an verse 004.024].

All the Semitic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) are pretty f***ed up. The best a human can do is to take LSD and experience God directly.

There is an expression which recurs in the Qu'ran which states "I suffer not the work of any worker, male or female, to be lost. Ye proceed one from another." and is a reminder to men that women are of the same human status as themselves.
An-Nisa, "Women", is so-called because it deals largely with women's rights.

maggiemae,
Women have same human status as men in Islam?
You should take a trip to Iran (for example) and make that crystal clear to Seyyed Ali Khameini, the Supreme Leader of Iran.
Give him a refresher course on how Islam should treat women.
Translations of the Qur'an Chapter 4: AN-NISA (WOMEN) Total Verses: 176 Revealed At: MADINA 004.011 YUSUFALI: Allah (thus) directs you as regards your Children's (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a half. For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased left children; if no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased Left brothers (or sisters) the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases ('s) after the payment of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your children are nearest to you in benefit. These are settled portions ordained by Allah; and Allah is All-knowing, Al-wise. 004.176 YUSUFALI: They ask thee for a legal decision. Say: Allah directs (thus) about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs. If it is a man that dies, leaving a sister but no child, she shall have half the inheritance: If (such a deceased was) a woman, who left no child, Her brother takes her inheritance: If there are two sisters, they shall have two-thirds of the inheritance (between them): if there are brothers and sisters, (they share), the male having twice the share of the female. Thus doth Allah make clear to you (His law), lest ye err. And Allah hath knowledge of all things.
Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Book 9: Virtues of the Prayer Hall (Sutra of the Musalla) Volume 1, Book 9, Number 498: Narrated 'Aisha: It is not good that you people have made us (women) equal to dogs and donkeys. No doubt I saw Allah's Apostle praying while I used to lie between him and the Qibla and when he wanted to prostrate, he pushed my legs and I withdrew them.
Book 4, Number 1039: Al-Aswad reported that 'A'isha said: You have made us equal to the dogs and the asses, whereas I lay on the bedstead and the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) came there and stood in the middle of the bedstead and said prayer. I did not like to take off the quilt from me (in that state), so I moved away quietly from the front legs of the bedstead and thus came out of the quilt.
Tabari IX:113 “Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing”
(i.e., Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in the Qur’an.) al-Ghazali, who has been called 'the greatest Muslim after Muhammad,' writes: ...the role of a Muslim woman is to "stay at home and get on with her sewing. She should not go out often, she must not be well-informed, nor must she be communicative with her neighbors and only visit them when absolutely necessary; she should take care of her husband... and seek to satisfy him in everything... Her sole worry should be her virtue... She should be clean and ready to satisfy her husband's sexual needs at any moment." -- quoted from Ibn Warraq
