Yessiree Bob!
Certainly, on the face of it, lying can't improve trust....or can it?
Let's suppose for a moment, that special someone never lies to you....ever! Not the smallest, whitest lie. He assures you that those jeans do, in fact, make your ass look big, etc. etc. Since he's never lied to you, or anyone, for that matter, you've never caught him in a lie. Perfect guy, right? Or....is he?!
Enter the protagonist: doubt! Muahahaha! If you've never caught him in a lie....how can you be so sure he's never lied? Maybe, just maybe, he's just really good at it. You start doubting the small things, first: Maybe he doesn't like your mother so much. Maybe these aren't the most flattering jeans. Then, it grows!! Does he really own property in Siberia? Is his cherry red covertable mustang still in the shop after four years? Are there really two super bowls this year?
The solution, is simple. Lie, and get caught. Yessiree, Bob!! Little lies, harmless lies. They can't be too obvious, or personal, and you can't sleep on it. Confess before you sleep. Go to bed an honest man!
The theory is....if she can learn to recognize when you're lying, she'll have no doubts when you're telling the truth! And, voila, she can trust you more than ever!
It is a theory, by the way. I haven't actually tested it. If you do, and it works, lemme know! If it doesn't, and she dumps your sorry ass, then....uh...my name is George Bush, and I live in Washington.

It's so much easier telling the truth because the truth is easier to remember. When it's all said and done, it will be between you and your Maker and He's the only one that you will have to answer to, no one else will pay the price for you. This is a statement I teach my kids and live by, it's worked after all these years. Sometimes it can be difficult and brutal at times as well as uncomfortable but most ppl respect you for it. Those that don't, never were your friend to begin with and so it's no loss. tc Lost
