Who owes you money, health care, or an education?

No one does, that's who.
This crap on spreading the wealth is such a stupid concept. Our constitution gives up the right to be equal, but only in the equality to pursue our happiness. It's not a right to be given what is not worked for by yourself, or taken from someone that worked hard for what they have.

I am so tired of hearing people say that we have the right to good health care. That is garbage. If you want good health care, then go out and get an education and work your ass off and earn that benefit.

I believe that everyone should pay the same percentage on taxes. Rich, middle, and lower incomes. Why should the rich be punished because they worked for what they have? The rich have what they do, because they worked hard to get that money, and the poor don't have the money because they don't work hard enough to grab their piece of the pie.

This country was based on work. If you don't work, you don't get. No one owes you anything!!!

Please don't think I am biased on this opinion. I barely scrape in 10k a year to live on. But that was my fault for not getting the education that I needed when I was younger. That was my fault, and I can change that around anytime that I want. It's MY decision. So, I do not blame those that have, because I don't. I blame myself for not working hard enough to make my life comfortable.

So the next time that you want to scream out, "It's not fair." Think: Did you work hard enough to get, or were you to lazy to work hard for it?

I'm not saying the poor doesn't work hard, but maybe if you worked harder and slept less, you may have had more by now.

Just My Opinions.

I agree.. because I lived through a goverment who did the same thing.

Businesses were taxed.. so they layed off.. people with jobs will have their jobs threatened because their employers will try to save money to pay the taxes.
Businesses wont just pay and smile.. they will try to survive.
Spreading the wealth doesnt work and never will.

Citizens are promised life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness....

There isn't a word anywhere about anyone being promised socially engineered artificial equality or a happy ending...

Those are things each of us must go out and get for ourselves...

Or at least that's the way it USED to be!!!

YES???

And what about our senior citizens that worked themselves to the bone during the war...served our country, and saved what they could to get their home, and raised their families to work hard also...and now are being thanked for their hard work and service by being taxed so hard they are forced to give up their home and everything precious to them??????

Are they supposed to go back to school at 70, 80, and 90 years old...???

Give me a break....

Is it my fault that they didn't save for their retirement? No.

Everyone is allowed SSRDI after 65 and have their retirement checks. Please, poor planning is no excuse.

My mother had to sell her house and move to an income subsidized apartment because she didn't save. And she knows that it was her fault for not looking out for her future a long time ago.

No one is at fault but your own for poor planning. Try another example..LOL

For every hard luck story you see...... there are 10 you don't see, happily retired in FL, TX, AZ, & all over the country. Sometimes circumstances are beyond their control..... like their company goes bankrupt and along with it goes their pension.... but some just plan spend every dollar they laid their hands on all their lives and have nobody to blame but themselves. So... taxes are too high? But yes, lets raise taxes even more to re-distribute wealth. Top of the list..... all the illegals streaming across the border. The Dems are drooling at the prospect of giving them amnesty, vested socical security, and, of course, voting rights. As for seniours? Eh...... their old. They don't have long to vote...... bet they don't rank so high on the list of social welfare distribution.

Speaking of sharing the wealth...... I have 3 kids and it is my hope to share my wealth and business with them. Call me selfish, but I'd like to keep what I earn for myself and them.

a very interesting concept...

I believe that everyone should pay the same percentage on taxes. Rich, middle, and lower incomes.

you don't really believe that the rich pay the same percentage as the middle class, do you? if everybody's federal income tax was based on a percentage of GNP, that would pay for a budget (((preferrably balanced))), tax advisors, lawyers, and auditors would no longer be needed. the rich would no longer employ those that could hide, or defer income for NO taxation or taxation at a more favorable time. tax loopholes of the rich would be nonexistant.

an aside to tax percentages... sales tax is the rich man's way of having the poor and the average joe pay a larger percentage of GROSS income in taxes. these people spend all or most of their income, and pay sales tax on their spending, while we know a person that makes a million dollars a year, does NOT spend anywhere near what he makes, hence less taxes.

i believe government is too large, running too many inefficent programs, but do not agree that a flat tax rate would penalize the rich. it would only ensure that they paid the same percentage as everybody else.

First of all, I won't suffer, because I live within my means. I don't buy things I don't need on credit cards, I buy used cars, and I rent so that I don't have the expenses of having to maintain a house. My choices, and they work for me because I pay everything in cash, no debt.
Every time my means change, my spending habits change. If everyone did that, their wouldn't be so many people asking the government to bail them out of financial problems of buying homes that they couldn't afford in the first place.
People need to start putting the blame where it belongs, on themselves. Quit blaming the government for your poor judgement. But that's another blog.

ohtayicu:
And I said that everyone SHOULD pay a flat tax, Not that they DO. Why should the rich have to pay more taxes? They worked hard for that money. They shouldn't be punished because they worked harder.
The reason most people don't like this idea is because they are jealous and think that they are entitled to have the rich pay more than their fair share. It is YOUR decision if you are poor or middle class. It was the decisions that you made in your life that put you where you are. The poor should pay their fair share and not EXPECT the rich to be responsible to pick up the pieces in the economy.

Finally! Someone that thinks like I do. I am much like you, I lived on minimum wage for years, and if I needed more money, hey, get another part-time job. Don't buy what you don't need, and don't eat out, cut expenses, turn off lights, turn down heat, and don't buy your kids everything they want. Americans are really spoiled I think. They have to live up with the Jone's. My children didn't live poor but I considered ourselves middle class. At the end of the day, as long as they had food, clean clothes and a good education with a roof over their head, that's all that's important if love is in the home. Take care Lost
