SORRY, folks…it’s another blog dealing with politics. Read no further if this annoys you!

I’ve been reading a lot of the political based blogs here recently. Darn it. Try as I may NOT to read them, I find it’s like turning my head away from a train wreck. It’s a hard thing to do. You know there’s nothing you can do to help….or change….what’s happened or been written, but you still just can’t help but to look.

Often times I find myself laughing at some of the utterly ridiculous stuff people write. Other times, I close out a blog shaking my head at what I read….comments included. It ceases to amaze me how people will believe every tid-bit of b.s. they pick up on the internet still. Also, how people will distort a story & try to put ridiculous slants on things.

The big topic of today seems to be the story of Barack Obama’s FATHER’S half-sister living illegally in the USA in public housing. BFD….do YOU know where all of your relatives are….much less half- relatives? One cannot help what others do…where they go, who they become…or whatever. WHY should Obama even be attempting to know the “who, what, where” of his very large extended family members? Get real people!

This brings me to another issue about the b.s. written here. Take some responsibility for what you write in blogs & blog comments…make sure you’ve got your story right before you go perpetrating another lie….or trying to put some sordid slant on life.

here is a man who doesn't even know the status of his own family, nor does he help take care of them. Allows them to live illegally on our tax dollars.

I’ll go on record here myself….I’ve got family living right here in the same town that I live in that I do not know…and guess what?….I have no desire to know them. I don’t know where they live or how they live. Frankly, it’s none of my business nor my concern…it’s certainly not my responsibility. And none of this makes me a bad person, thank you very much.

It's also been reported he saw his own dad for about ten minutes of his life too. Real family man he is. And his grandmother for a few days. Wonderful just wonderful.

Obama is not responsible for the life he was born into, no more than YOU are yours. It was none of his doing that his father left him when was barely 2 years old & that he never saw him again until he was 10…and then only for ONE month!

I’m not blogging about this because I support Obama….although by now, if you’ve read many of my blog comments, it is evident that I am. I’m writing this because, as I’ve said before, it simply ceases to amaze me the CRAP people will write in effort to make the candidate they are voting against look bad. I still say….write about the good of your candidate of choice. You’d stand a much better chance of making a decent impression.

***********************************************************************************************

With all of this said, it is MY opinion. Any statements I have made here, I have determined to be factual & true. If you take issue with any of this, your POLITE comment will be accepted. And although I typically do NOT censor or delete blog comments on any of my blogs, I will NOT tolerate anything less than considerate responses. Thank you.

No you are right it doesnt make you a bad person, I am sure you are a nice person......but most people know there family and want to be involved with there families. This country was founded by families that worked together to build this great country. We were raised to care, love, reachout and take care of one another. Not waiting for big goverment to act as our mommy and fix all our boo boos and mistakes . That is the major problem with the world today , we stoped caring for the needy the hungry ect and said said let goverment take care of them.. The point of the Obama story is if that is how much he cares about his own,,, how much do you realy think he will care about us

I have to wonder why any person believes that their vote will ever be the deciding vote. I also wonder how people can believe that whoever gets elected is going to change anything as a president. The people that all of us sould worry about are those that we sent to congress. This is the start of all enactments that will effect us.

Missliss, they believe it, because they want to believe it. When you think about the absurdness of this story, it really leaves you scratching your head. I wonder if any of the Republican posters remember to note that John McCain and Ted Kennedy co-authored the recent illegal/amnesty bill that was shot down in congress:)))

I sincerely doubt they did,
You have yourself a nice evening!

I rather like the mindless criticisms from those that dislike a candidate. It's a clear indication that said candidate has little worthy of criticism. If the best people can do is drag up irrelevant complaints regarding 1/2 relatives....well....makes Obama look that much better

btw.....
Get rich and die and you'll discover your 1/2 relatives have a lot of interest in you.

I'm not an Obama supporter...matter of fact I support neither major candidate...it's Piggy for Prez...YEAH!

Actually, I am curious, if this half aunt of Obama's is living in the US illegally, how did she possibly get public housing? I believe you have to at least qualify by being a legal resident of the state you are living in. Perhaps I'm wrong but not positive..since I rarely am...hehehehe.

Nicely stated Liss!

Funny thing you would say this. How much he cares about us?
Actually, I was into a long comment to YOUR blog when I decided... "It's not worth commenting here" Simply put.
Some of the bloggers here are so skewed in their thoughts I'd be afraid to have to deal with them in real-life situations.
I closed the window and came to read this blog.

People seem to ignore Barack Obama is an attorney that happens to be running for president of the United States. His distant relative was ordered to leave the United States. No one here knows their relationship, therefore no one can speak for Barack and his actions. Other than from a legal standpoint, directly helping her stay here would be ill advised by his campaign. Don't you agree? Your blog didn't state that.

At best... it's just another "Hey !! look at the latest dirt I found on Barack" blog.

I agree with missliss about looking at a train wreck, however there are so many 'train wreck blogs' on Matchdoctor it's time to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. It's time for some more responsible blogs. I know I don't want to be remembered for political smear blogs that solicit narrow comments. Maybe you do.

I am so tired of the politcal blogs. I would hope, that NO ONE would make their choice by reading the blogs on this site. Educate yourself on the candidates anywhere but here! Great blog missliss.

I wanted to post here one response I made to a commentor on this blog, as I do not agree with his perspective. However, he & I have agreed to disagree & he did present his comment in a kind manner...for which I am appreciative.....

and I responded to him"
MrPaul. Thank you for reading & commenting in a nice way on blog.
However, we can, I hope, agree to disagree, as I beg to differ with that opinion.
Because I or anyone else does not have contact with some parts of their family does not mean they intentionally don't care. It does not mean we expect others to take care of them. Most often, as is the case for Obama & this half sister of his father's....there are extenuating circumstances & to judge him for his lack of knowledge or reaching out is not a fair judgment.

I, personally, find him to be very inspiring & dignified. This is my opinion & my right as an American.

Thank you.

as Daisy said....I have quite a few relatives that I do not know and have absolutely no desire to get to know.. I imagine they feel the same way about me also.. do I feel obligated to them somehow?.. Not hardly..

I AM obligated to my immediate family and help them as much as I can.
other family members..... no. Doesn't mean I don't care about their "issues" but my plate is full right now and if it takes away from being able to assist my immediate family..... so sorry.

As far as the political comments seen on here.... Misliss was dead-on....tell us the GOOD POINTS of your candidate..... and stop the bull shit mud slinging and dredging up 30 year old crap that is totally irrelevant... I would be much more inclined to read your blog...

kudos Missliss

My grandfather was adopted...I know I should have a Polish last name..one of those '_____ski' names but he ran away from an abusive family, was adopted, and so I have an Americanized English last name.

I know I have all sorts of cousins across the country that I don't know a thing about, where they are, how to find them, etc, without turning my attention to such details, and I simply don't give time to such things. interesting from a geneological thing, and if I gave real attention to it, I'm sure we could trace roots back far enough to show how Vin and Long are both related to me...but for what purpose?

Barack's life, post-education, has been in public service...community organizing, legal counsel regarding civil rights and related activities, then state legislature and national legislature. So, what would this man have to do to provide enough evidence to others that his world is about working with people to assist them in rebuilding their worlds???

Would it be an easier story to swallow if he was doing commercials for 'Feed the Children?' Easier to believe if he was a pastor? A martyr?

There is no end to the questions of intention, authenticity and and so on because this is the classic Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam showdown....

You remember...

Bugs keeps telling Sam..."I dares ya to step across this line!'

And Sam does, "Well, I'm a steppin!" so Bugs backs down the high dive board a little further...

"Welllllll...I dares ya to step across this line..."

Sam..."Well, I'm a steppin!" and Bugs backs down the high dive board a little further...

you remember...this keeps on a few times until Sam goes a steppin one too many and falls off the high dive board...and in cartoon reality, comes back up to tell Bugs..."Oooohhh...I hate you, varmint!"

Here, the question offered isn't the real point. Instead, beneath it, there is an assertion - Barack is bad. Everything else is an invitation to see the justification for the author's assertion....an attempt to somehow chisel away at others perception.

The same species...somehow...significantly different perceptions of the same thing. Why don't we argue about water is wet or the sky is blue, like we do about politics? Because we've agreed to the rules as to how to talk about such things, and part of those rules is that we don't allow the attributing of intentions, and meanings to 'water is wet.'

If we could, there is about 20% of the species that would die of thirst. "I wanna see water's birth certificate to see whether or not it is really wet, or is hiding something about it being dry?!!!!!"

Well, missliss, many of the political blogs and comments on them just prove some people's ignorance and gulability. They would probably buy my swampland in Greenland too if I offered it for sale and think they got a great deal at only one million dollars for 0.5 acres....

What gets me is these are the same people that where saying you weren't patriotic if you didn't support Bush simply because he was President. So now that Barack will be Pres I wonder if they will still be so "patriotic" or if if that support they insisted we had for the office will only apply to the candiate of their choice. I think we're going to have a lot of Reps that aren't very patriotic anymore. I hope they like that hypocritical pill they swallow.

Great blog Miss...sorry I took a couple of days to find it
