our perceptions are guided and influenced by our conscious and subconscious minds. those two states are fueled by experience and instruction. though, both are fraught with potential for misinterpretation, which can lead to skewed perceptions. in order to see clearly, we must rely not only on experience and instruction, we must also use reason and logic and intuition, to interpret both, keeping in mind that these too are subject to failure.
the astronomer need not believe in a creator to appreciate the awesomeness of the universe. however, he should employ humility while using the laws of mathmatics to form his opinion.
