OK, so I understand the election is on Tuesday. And then it'll be all over and we can just go back to the usual stuff on here, right?

So, is it a crime to compare the President of the US with a certain right wing dictator of Austrian decent? Shaky ground I would have thought.

And instead of all this mud slinging at Mr Obama, would those who intend to vote Republican care to list their candidates plus points.

Is it possible to have a political rally without flag waving and crowds?

I really don't care who wins, as I said before all this mud slinging makes me think there maybe more about this Obama guy than I thought; cos the other side must sure be worried.

Anyhoo, you guys have a pleasant night, and sorry for mentioning the election again; I know I said I wouldn't, but I just had a couple of these questions to ask.

Just a Brit all at sea.

It doesn't compare to Sen. Obama's so they do seem to be avoiding this.

And as a friend said:

"But that's not the main reason I wouldn't vote for John McCain; the hands-down, #1 reason I wouldn't vote for him is SARAH PALIN. Why? Well, honestly, I don't give a crap about whether or not her being governor of Alaska makes her qualified; my bottom line is this: I have a daughter. If -God forbid- my daughter was ever raped, Sarah Palin believes that she (my daughter) should have to pay for her own rape kit, in essence billing her to get justice for the assault on her; she did this as mayor of Wasilla...furthermore, if my daughter's rapist impregnated her, Sarah Palin would force her to carry her rapist's child to term.
All this is reason enough for me to vote against McCain/Palin even if John McCain weren't potentially the oldest president in history, and he was in perfect health-which he most certainly isn't, having suffered through four bouts of melanoma, spending time in a North Vietnamese P.O.W. camp, being a former smoker, and having a bad temper...no, Governor Palin being "a heartbeat away" from the Presidency is scary enough even if said heartbeat wasn't as suspect as it is."

I wish they bring back the monarchy here. At least we'd know WHO and WHAT to expect in our future.

...and troublemaking dissidents and nasty PIAs would be subject to the ol' "Off with their heads" routine.

You should send over that big eared guy...........or one of his 2 sons to be our next king

Tell you what guys, you can have the whole royal family, even William and Harry. God knows why we still have them, we'll do a swap. You have the royals and we'll take Obama. I'll even thrown in Gordon brown as well; deal or no deal?

It seems to me that Obama has spent the past few months getting his message across, not getting angry and just being a leader about things. It how it seems from this side of the pond.

One last, serios, question: I hear many calls for tax breaks for the middle classes over there; well, in Britain, middle class means being well off, maybe earning over $100k a year, two houses, several cars, having lots of money. Maybe middle class means something else there. To me it seems the middle classes here could pay their way a bit more.

I don't pay tax, however, seriously, so maybe I should stay out of the whole tax thing?

If so, there are some on this site who might get a visit from the Men in Black, or whatever they're called, homeland security, from Wednesday morning.

Just a thought.

Well, your choice of a candidate with no resume and no roots in this country, who promises to change things that the executive branch of the federal government cannot change, a veritable unknown outside Chicago, over a candidate who's family dates back to the revolutionary war, who served this country since he was seventeen, is fortunately, still your right.
I wonder, for how much longer?

That's pretty much the argument for a monarchy. Didn't you guys fight a war not to have one of those?

When history is coming at you like a tsunami, and you recognize you're tied to the tree, but the wave is 5 times your height...what can one do but scream at the wave??

When you know there is no way to get untied from the tree, what do you do but scream at the wave?

When you know that your belief to stay the course and ride out the wave underestimated the earthquake behind the wave, what can you do but scream at the wave?

When you recognize that you thought your view would always be the same, so you stayed the course despite all indicators that said things were going to change...what can you do but scream at the wave?

When you were so cocky that only you knew to use the rope of deceit and fear mongering against the tsunami, what can you do but scream at the wave?
