First off...I don't care about your politics. That is the last thing this blog is about. In fact, I'm not revealing who I'm voting for because it's my business, not yours and not anyone else's. It does not reflect my character, just like who you are voting for does not reflect your character. (I only wish that more people saw that)

I've been waiting for this moment since I was a kid and wished I could vote for George H.W. Bush....then again when I wanted to vote for Bill Clinton...then again when I wanted to vote for Al Gore...and then in 2004 when I wanted to vote for John Kerry (who I ended up meeting, by the way...great, great guy).

It was hard to come to a decision as to who to vote for in this election. Mostly because it was the first election where I really actually had to think about who to support. It's my first Presidential election. I mean...it's actually happening now. I finally get to do it. For the first time since 1992, my passion and my support will actually count for something. To a lot of young, first-time voters, their first vote for President is just a first vote, but for me it's like a momentous occasion. I'd compare it to losing my virginity. In a weird way.

I dunno if a lot of people know what this actually means to me. Yes, I've voted before...but my voting cherry was popped by Bob Menendez and Paul Aronsohn. Laaaaaaaaaaame. I mean, I don't even like Bob Menendez and I don't know shit about Paul Aronsohn. I only voted for them cos I wanted a Democratic majority in the Senate and House (that seemed to not have worked out in the way I wanted it to). Since then, I've voted for town counsel and freeholder and all that bullshit I don't pay attention to but should, and I voted in the primary for Hillary Clinton, helping her to carry New Jersey. That meant a lot to me, too. Yes, I'm a disgruntled Hillary voter. No hard feelings, though.

But...I mean...just to think that I've been waiting so long just for this moment and it's actually finally here. It's unbelievable, you know?

I'll admit I've lost that starry eyed optimism I had as a child...even through age sixteen in 2004...about American politics and Presidential elections, but nothing compares to those nights sitting in front of the television watching the returns come in just waiting to see if my guy carried another state. Nothing compares to that thrill and that anticipation. And now...I finally get to be a part of that.

I enjoyed this blog, too!
I am excited for you, as I know it does mean a lot to you....yes, over time I've read enough of your blogs to know how into this you are.
At almost 50 years old, this is the most excited & involved I've ever been in a Presidential election, myself. Heretofore, I've always been rather private about my choice, as well.....me thinks the next election that rolls around, I'll revert to my old ways.

Happy Election Day to you!

Queen, you are so refreshing. I know that you really - like really take politics seriously. I also know that you are a highly informed voter. That is all that matters Queen.

I know one other thing about you. Tomorrow you will be watching MSNBC and your tingling legged hero!

I was so excited to vote this year, I went on the first day of early voting (10/16/08). This was my 7th Presidential Election (egads...I'm getting OLD!), and the one that I've invested the most time and energy to.

I'm even considering a more proactive role in politics, going forward...
