the self contained beast

i am a self-contained beast, sufficient unto myself
my meals are simple, fuel for the machine

i debate issues with an audience of none, never missing a point
my t.v. shows me what i want

i am in tune with my moods, no need to stay out of my way every 28 days
my medicine cabinet holds no age reversing lotions

i give myself pleasure with a touch never too light or too rough.
my side of the bed is either left or right

i leave the toilet seat up or down, no matter
my refrigerator doesn't store fresh nail strengthening gelatin

i wear black, i don't care if blue suits my skin tone
my clothes are hung, folded & pressed, or not

i can stay up all night or sleep till noon, if i feel like it
my curtains block the sun, no frills function

...the sky stays steelgray
food lacks flavor
laughter rings lonely
pleasure lacks purity
love needs its muse

sad words and I feel them too
